MT6 for the month of August
With five locations throughout the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area, we ended up checking out the Blue Ash location. It’s a great place to grab some drinks, catch your favorite sports team on TV, and grab a bite to eat.

After trying several different pizzas, we were able to get a feel for what Mac’s is all about: good food and good times! 🍕🍻

They have an outdoor patio for those beautiful days, you can shoot a game of pool, and they’re also pet-friendly. 🐾

Another cool thing Mac’s offers is outdoor vending machines at several locations, including Clifton, Hollywood Casino, University of Cincinnati-TUC, Rhinegeist Brewery, CVG Airport, UC Blue Ash, and UC Market Point. The vending machines feature pizza, wings, quesadillas, cookies, and T-shirts—and they’re open 24/7!

Definitely a fun spot to check out!

MT6 for the month of July
One of the many places featured on the Bourbon Trail is this quaint and cozy distillery named Pensive Distilling Company. Located in Newport, Kentucky, this bar and kitchen offer house bourbon, apple-pie moonshine, and many other options.

Going for the food? That’s us! From charcuterie boards to sandwiches, greens, and desserts, there’s sure to be something for everyone on the menu.

When you visit, you can’t help but notice the massive amounts of corks covering their walls. Each one is drawn on and decorated by previous guests. Grab yourself one to decorate, and they’ll add yours to the collection.

Funny story! There was one with a number on it that simply read, “Call me.” One of us decided to try it out. We ended up sending a text to the number, and it was a gentleman who said he had never eaten there and wasn’t sure why his number was on their wall. 😂 (Leave it to your friends to leave your number somewhere random!)

The guy was a good sport about it and ended up Venmoing us money to buy a shot. 😂

After dinner, we drifted over to West Sixth Brewing in Covington, Kentucky, where we ended the night with conversation, a couple of rounds of Jenga, and some drinks.

MT6 for the Month of June

Meal Team Six takes us back to a familiar place: The Summit in Blue Ash, where we once enjoyed dinner at The Senate, which has since closed down. The Summit offers a variety of places to eat and relax.

Tonight, we enjoyed dinner at TAHONA Kitchen + Bar, where we had delicious tacos and sides such as pineapple-mango guacamole, queso blanco, the chips-and-salsa bar, and Tahona corn. It’s an easy place to order a quick meal and be in and out, or you can sit, relax, and take your time.

With such a beautiful night outside, the outdoor seating TAHONA offers can definitely be enjoyable. After dinner, we walked around The Summit and enjoyed ice cream from Golden Spoon Creamery, followed by drinks and social time at MadTree. It was nice to see so many families out enjoying The Summit tonight—kids playing on the playground, enjoying a game of Gaga ball, or tossing a ball around in the field, just to name a few.

We even made it home in time to catch the U.S. win against Paraguay, 4–1, in the FIFA World Cup!! ⚽️

MT6 for the month of May
Growing up on the west side, I’m actually surprised I never dined here until my mid-30s. Founded in 1949, Maury’s Tiny Cove still stands among the few original businesses that have remained throughout the years in Cheviot. Maury’s actually holds the title of being one of the oldest continuously operated restaurants in Cincinnati.

Even with new ownership throughout the years, this restaurant has still managed to maintain its unique signature style and menu. Currently owned by Matt and Matthew Housman and Angela Faillace, the restaurant is hoping to find new owners who will uphold its legacy. So, if you know anyone who is looking and could fill those shoes, send them to Maury’s. I would love to see it continue on and remain just as memorable each and every time I visit.

MT6 for the Month of April
Featured on television’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and visited by Guy Fieri, this charming little diner in Milford, Ohio, serves up breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff were great, and the food and drinks were delicious.

This restaurant was founded by brothers Paul and Neil Barraco. It is named after John M. Pattison, the 43rd governor of Ohio, whose Victorian mansion, Promont House, is a local historical landmark.

Take a step inside one of their two bathrooms to wash up before eating, and check out the hand-painted walls. Painted by one of their very own employees, they did a great job making the space fun and unique.
