Join Homebound Farm and Rescue this weekend for an equestrian trail challenge!! Great chance to get out there with your horses and support a good cause.

This is a first for us- we will need volunteers to help mark the trail- but that should be it! We may even be able to offer a couple of our horses for test rides for this event- with pre-approval of course. We have two geldings that are available for adoption!

🚨 Wildfire Update: Northern Region of Alaska – June 21, 2025 🚨

Alaska is currently experiencing intense wildfire activity, with several significant fires burning across the Northern Region, including areas near Fairbanks, Salcha, Chicken, and Healy. Crews are actively responding to protect communities, cabins, and infrastructure.

Here’s a quick overview of major fires in the region:

🔥 ( #237) - Threatening structures near Parks Highway MP 263 (north of Healy). Aircraft and fire crews are responding. Evacuation levels 1, 2 and 3 (READY, SET, GO) are in place.

🔥 ( #238) – Approximately 500 acres, Evacuation levels 1 and 2 (READY, SET) are in place.

🔥 ( #223) - 1,500+ acres, near Elliott Highway MP 15. Active aerial suppression and ground crews on scene. Evacuation levels 1 and 2 (READY, SET, GO) are in place—stay alert.

🔥 ( #233) - 15.5 acres, air and ground resources have slowed fire spread. Evacuation levels 1 and 2 (READY, SET) are in place.

🔥 ( #268) – Approximately 400 acres, west of Haystack Mountain. Displayed active fire behavior throughout yesterday’s shift.

🔥 ( #220) - Nearly 2,000 acres burning through spruce and brush northeast of Twelvemile Lake. Structure assessments underway.

🔥 #193 - Merged fire near Salcha River; active structure protection continues.(This fire is now being managed by BLM AFS)

🔥 Fire ( #218) – Approximately 1000 acres. Smokejumpers are protecting a cabin on the Salcha River east of Eielson AFB.(This fire is now being managed by BLM AFS)

🔥 #192 - 4,200+ acres, west of Chicken. Structure protection is nearly complete thanks to Tanana Chiefs Bravo Squad.

🌲 Crews from local, state, and federal agencies are working around the clock to contain these fires and protect Alaskans.
