Sad news and a warning to local property owners and growers.
Today, Asplundh (contracted by Alabama Power) decimated our blueberry bush field. If you drive by and see it, we did not cut these down.
We lost at least 50 blueberry bushes that were 20-25 years old.
There is no easement for this power line that runs across the field, and there was no attempt to contact us before this happened.
We are currently in contact with both companies, and contemplating getting an attorney to represent us.
We want this made right.
Our intent was to have u-pick for 2024.

Our neighbors Great Pyrenees are still missing from yesterday. They have collars with info and are microchipped. They are sweet dogs with a loving home. There is a little boy that is heartbroken. Please be on the lookout for Comanche and Renegade. Last seen on the southern part of county road 15 from Alabama 22.

Prayers for one of our broken halos. Bonnie has some masses on her front leg and on her chest. Took her to the vet today...

Prayers for one of our broken halos. Bonnie has some masses on her front leg and on her chest. Took her to the vet today. She is being kept tonight for surgery in the morning to remove them. May God bring her back to us healthy and full of the life she has always had. She is one of the most active dogs we have. Only 4 years old, too young to have these problems. We love you Bonnie and will see you tomorrow.

Unfortunately we will not be opening up for you pick this year.
The freeze in February killed off about 80% of the blooms.
The amount of berries that might bloom later this summer is not enough for us to open up for you pick.
We will spend this season getting ready for next season.
Please accept our apologies for this season.

So. I decided to build a small barn type door for the entryway between the kitchen area, and the living room. This door was going to keep the 80 pound German Shepherd, Luna, in either area when needed. After hundreds of calculations, measurements, and handy work. I have my creation. Only I missed one measurement - weight......
It weighs freakin 60 pounds!!!
Oh well. Back to the drawing board...
