Hi everyone! So happy to see Prattville Farmers Market being advertised on TV! How awesome is that?!

As you can see from my previous pics, I've been busy building raised beds and am giddy with the results! Things are germinating like crazy and I'll have some different flowers for y'all this summer.

Unfortunately, my flowers won't be ready until the 2nd Saturday of June. But, I will be there June 6 with greeting cards that I flower-pounded some of my flowers last fall with. So much fun!

Gotta get my sales permit in order.... then I'm on my way!

Have fun this weekend! There will be a children's activity with the Art guild of Prattville, so bring the kiddos!

I am pausing at 14 raised beds. I had a Helper work with me on setting up these 8‘ x 4‘ x 1‘ vinyl kits. That part went pretty fast. I had a dump truck full of a Topsoil mix delivered next to the area. It looks like amazing stuff! We then had to shovel the topsoil in buckets and wheel it over in a two-wheel cart, then dump the buckets into the beds. I was cautious about not using a tractor on the w**d fabric, thinking it might damage it. Good thing is, my back has never felt better. (Granted, my helper did 2/3 of the work. ) :-) Shoveling Agrees with me. lol!!! There are some baby plants you can see as I was planting as we went. Yay!!!!!

Hey everyone! So I've been trying to figure out how to make my farming life easier AND more productive and came up with this! I've decided to turn one area (50' x 50') into a raised bed area. Yesterday, my helper and I, well mostly the helper :-) laid w**d fabric over the entire area!!! I've ordered some modular raised beds so will see how that goes. It should allow me to control the soil mix better, hence better germination, and less w**ds! Yippee!

February is a good month to plant bushes! So I ordered some lime lights and Everbloom hydrangeas to beef up my ornamental bush area for cut flowers. My wonderful neighbor volunteered to drill holes with his auger. I think that’s my new favorite farm piece of equipment!!! thank you Buddy so much for doing this for me yesterday! I have the best neighbors!!!
