Why not take the backroads and make a little day trip out of it?
Start on Highway 16, then turn right onto Buffalo Shoals Road.

Take a break in the adorable Town of Catawba for a late breakfast, specialty coffee, or lunch at Taste of Catawba, then visit another historic site: the Bunker Hill Covered Bridge, one of the last remaining covered bridges in NC.
Finally, arrive at True Cut Ranch for shopping, fishing, and animal viewing.
Half Day Itinerary:
* Head north on Highway 16.
* Visit Murray's Mill Historic District for either a quick, free stroll or buy a ticket to tour the mill.
* Break for coffee, breakfast, or lunch at Taste of Catawba.
* It's only a 4 minute drive from Downtown Catawba to take a selfie at one of NC's last remaining covered bridges, the Bunker Hill High School. This historic attraction is free to visit.
* Just ten more minutes of driving then you'll pull through the gate to enter True Cut Ranch, take it slow and roll down the windows to take in the serenity and scenery of our family's 140+ acre farm. The farm store is open 10am to 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays; inside you'll find meats from our farm, ice cream, beef jerky, fresh produce, and other products from local and organic farms. Grab a snack and drink from the farm store to enjoy at our covered "Creekview" picnic area.
