Welcome to the farm, Ebenezer! We picked up this handsome myotonic buck last night - Lone Tree Topplers’ Bees Knees. He’s still a bit shell shocked from the move, so he’ll have a few weeks to adjust to his new home before meeting the ladies.

Ever wonder what a turkey bedtime routine looks like? Our turkeys are let out to graze and forage on pasture each morning, and each evening we herd them back to their secure coop to keep them safe from predators.

Dakota makes it clear he’s a guardian dog, not a herding dog.

We had another fun time at the Tunbridge Worlds Fair! A huge thank you to the DBF kids and families who taught school groups about , participated (and won ribbons) in the fitting & showmanship and production classes, walked in the parade, shared myotonic facts during the rare breeds show, joined in on the costume contest, and helped care for the goats throughout the fair!

Silas also enjoyed his first fair day at 3 weeks old!

The goats are headed to the Tunbridge Worlds Fair tomorrow afternoon! Kids from our education program have been working with our six youngest goats the past few months to prepare for the show: training them to walk on a leash, building trust, and grooming. You can join us at the fair to visit the goats Thursday through Sunday - come watch us participate in the Goat Show, parade, or costume contest!

Silas Orion surprised us by arriving 5 weeks early… just in time to share his dad’s birthday! We are all doing well, and Silas is already starting to join in on farm chores.

Our last Barnyard Bash of the season was extra special because we got to make our own pizza using Dancing Bear Farm pizza sauce and veggies harvested from the garden!

We’re taking the fall season off from kid’s programming to get ready to welcome Baby Lownie but we can’t wait to see everyone back on the farm in the spring!

We had a special guest at summer camp today! Farmer Emily from Budding Nourishment taught us about the benefits of herbs for our digestion and immune systems. We harvested herbs from the garden to make herb butter and lemonade before enjoying a farm feast together!
