Wolf & Four Moons Farm is a veteran family operation. We started as a “pet” (pun intended) project with 2 chickens and the intent to garden in eastern Pennsylvania. Since then, both of our flocks (kids and birds) grew as the fire team was completed and the pair of birds turned into a large squad of 13.
***Disclaimer*** Again, if you haven’t realized, this page is run by a disgruntled vet. We use military jargon and accordingly will do our best to keep the profanity to a minimum. If you need something explained, feel free to look it up or ask your local friendly vet. Now back to our normal programming **Unpause**
Since then, headquarters was relocated from eastern PA to northern Idaho, all birds intact. The flock has also grown considerably, getting to the size of a small company (again military version thereof), mostly through adoption/rescue, Objective 3 of our farm's mission. These birds are our pet descendants of velociraptors and microraptors based on habits, and go ahead and fight me on this, the oldest member of the fire team is a dinosaur expert and knows more than you on this topic.
As our chickens are our pets, what has grown to be a small farm started (though not intentionally) as a source of therapy for the in house vet, aka- the Head Master Farmer Involving Chickens (HMFIC). As a disabled combat vet, the cause for the eventual end of veteran su***de is near and dear to the hearts of all that have served, many times in more personal ways than we all would like to admit. That leads to Objective 2 of our farm's mission, profits from the sale of our eggs will be donated to organizations dedicated to helping veterans and helping prevent veteran su***de.
In an effort to feed more of our local community with nutritious, healthy, and natural foods at a low cost becuase we are vehimently against the inflation that is upon us (Objective 1), as well as keep down costs for the farm and to donate more to the fight to end veteran su***de, we ask for any empty cartons. We would also be happy to "reload" cartons for you. Leave a message on our page or call the number on the carton to arrange pickup.
We hope you enjoy our eggs, because we believe that veterans raise better hens. Our proof is in the puddi-, well, eggs.
