Dear Flowers,
Same time, same place next year?
What a wild and wonderful growing season 2022 has been. To put things into perspective, I ended my 2021 season with selling my first bouquet ever. I ended my 2022 season with my first invitation to provide floral design for an intimate wedding.
The word growth is an obvious and cliche choice because of the inherent nature of farming, but it sums up so much of what has occurred here over the last season.
While I am a one woman shop when it comes to the daily tasks and chores, I am far from alone in this endeavor. The support of my family, friends, and this community have stretched beyond the dreams I had before I even sowed my first seed.
Parts of this season did not look the way I envisioned, due to some factors within and some out of my control. Despite my inconsistencies, the support remained. Therein lies the motivation to continue to grow and share beautiful flowers. If it were up to me and my self-doubt, it may not happen. Deepest gratitude for those of you who have believed in me. Thank you.
I also have to thank my garden. As much love as I pour into her, I pour in equal amounts of neglect. Yet she still produces and gives and she did so until Mother Nature whispered it was time to rest this week. And what a show she put on until the very end! Homegirl is tired.
Preparations for spring are underway and I'm unbelievably excited about the 2023 season. For now, we rest and regenerate and reevaluate.
Until then,
Peace, love and foxgloves βοΈβ€οΈπ¦π§€
