Morning Sky Farm

Morning Sky Farm Morning SKY Farm Alpacas is located in NW PA, and has been home to an ever growing herd of fine, huacaya (wa-KI-yah) alpacas since 2004.

While constantly educating ourselves on everything alpaca so that we can serve our clients and the health of our alpacas well, we are on an ongoing quest to breed in a decisive manner that maintains and upgrades the quality of our herd in both conformation and fleece. Not ones to be loud about self-promotion, we are quietly building a herd of quality huacaya alpacas that includes a number of Reser

ve and Color Champions in both conformation and fleece as well as many ribbon winners. Our Color Champion herdsires are also producing beautiful offspring. The Morning SKY Farm herd currently stands at 30 alpacas in a variety of colors - mostly white, light, and grey. Our lovely home-grown alpaca yarn is extremely soft (and not prickly), exceptionally warm, hypo-allergenic, and lightweight. Morning SKY Farm is usually open to the public once a year during a special, announced farm educational event. Send us an e-mail to join our mailing list if you wish to receive notice of these events or of new yarn availability!

A different view of our barn backed by the mesmerizing and ever changing dancing display of Northern Lights. Out of 166 photos, these are two of my favorites, especially because our recently born cria appears in the second one only minutes after nursing beneath the aurora. 😊

This week brought the arrival of the first offspring by our grey herdsire, Morning SKY's Paulina's Raku - a brown female, Morning SKY's Raku's Mercer! Strong, and standing and nursing in short order after a textbook birth, Mercer is thriving. While we do live in Mercer County, she was actually named along the pottery theme of her sire's name, and after the creative Henry Chapman Mercer, founder of the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works, now The TileWorks of Bucks County. (If you've never visited The TileWorks, Fonthill Castle, H.C. Mercer's home, or the Mercer Museum, put them on your "Things to Do" list!)
