Just a little update, our beets, radish, and broccoli seeds are coming along. They've been under lights for a week and looking good. We are using bootstrapfarmer trays for our micro greens and will most likely go to those 100% for seed starts. We'll keep you all posted as things progress. Stay safe and love those close to you.

People ask about Duck vs chicken eggs all the time. In our experience, duck eggs are much fluffier when used in baking or just scramble eggs. Our duck yoke is more of a consistent burnt orange rather than a yellow yoke you'd get from a chicken egg. However, food supply does affect the color of the yoke. When our chickens or ducks are eating scraps from the garden they will have a darker yoke, yet in the winter, we have less greens to provide, so the yoke is lighter. When Jenna cooks, she only uses duck eggs, for we feel they have a richer taste and add the fluffiness mentioned above. Visit wideopenpets.com to learn more about the difference between chicken and duck eggs.

4Legg'd Farms was established in 2017 by Des and Jenna Snyder. The farm started as a place for our family to raise and produce food for our family, however, when friends and extended family visited and ate the fruits of our labor, they too wanted to enjoy the or****ic aspect of what we produce. Due to their request, 4Legg'd Farms began. We do like the word organic, yet our produce is grown without any fertilizer, herbicides, or pesticides, so we chose our own adjective related to our products as "or****ic", for we feel the best way to produce a vegetable product is without chemical and with compost. We source our compost from a local supplier that distributes compost from WSU. We also have our own compost that is added to the earth we grow our garden in. Our poultry is fed scraps from the garden and Country Companion feed. We'd really like to go with Non-GMO types of feed, yet the feed is twice the price and we do not feel the local community would support the higher price. If we do have enough people requesting Non-GMO feed for our poultry we'd definitely switch. Our poultry was sourced from Cackling Hatchery or organically hatched from our farm. We hope this page brings you happiness and hopefully a method for home raised products. We are a small family farm that we are establishing to be around for generations, so that we and our local family and friends can share in healthy living for generations to come.
