Animal Welfare Manager Annika is basically Little Bo Peep with the sheep Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Karbaashian. They love her!! They were very afraid of people when they first arrived. They are still not our most social animals, and we never force interactions. But they are very happy to be living at the ranch in a safe and clean environment where all of their needs are met. ❤️❤️❤️

We had the best time babysitting Bruce while Dr. Vanderbroek was at a veterinary conference. Bruce is a special-needs pig who came to us from a cruelty case along with his brothers who are still up for adoption. He had multiple surgeries at MSU when veterinarian Dr. Vanderbroek fell in love with him and decided to adopt him and give him the final surgery that saved his life.

Did you know that pigs can make great house pets just like dogs? Pigs are actually one of the smartest species in the world, can easily be potty trained or litter trained and are very clean animals. They do need an outdoor space or to be walked frequently and should never be left alone with dogs (they should be separated if you are not home). Pigs form very strong bonds with their humans, so if you are considering adopting a pig, make sure you are ready for the commitment and that it’s allowed in your local ordinance.
