Onions and garlic have all been harvested as of today! We are extra thankful that this step went so smoothly AND that some of our onions are huge. Now they’ll get laid out to cure for the next few weeks so that they’ll store well for several months.

This is a big test of their quality. Mushy onions… IYKYK 🫣🤢 We will toss them so quick😄

I’ve been thinking through the idea of doing a mini rearrangement at the farm store. When the sky decided to fall at the end of our store hours yesterday, I took a gamble and started moving stuff around. I decided I’d ask for forgiveness rather than permission 😄 (Although, Michael doesn’t care, especially since it didn’t require anything of him😉) I’m slowly but surely getting it all back together and I’m pretty pumped about it. Although, rearranging furniture is like a refresh to my soul☺️

So far this is my favorite spot with all the fabulous products from , , and ♥️ Come see it all for yourself on Saturday!

You know the drill. We’ll be open from 9am-1pm at 5470 Sango Rd and restocked with our fresh produce, eggs, sourdough bagels and sandwich bread from , classic sourdough loaves (and maybe other options) from and cinnamon rolls from .embers.bakery. 🥯 🍞

We’ve had SO MUCH rain this week after such a dry year. I’m trying not to complain about it too much because we desperately needed rain, but we’re getting to the point where it’s affecting some of the health of our plants. I just planted lavender two days before the rain… and they do not like a lot of moisture🤦🏻‍♀️ The squash maybe showing signs of mildew on the leaves, but I’m really hoping I’m wrong.

Don’t worry though! The weeds are thriving 😄🤪🙈 Even though the grass/ ground wasn’t really dry enough today, we took advantage of the sun and push mowed in between the beds. My legs are the results of mowing tall, wet grass that keeps choking out the mower so you open up all the “gates” to let as much grass out as possible 🤪 Ya girl is crazy, but I will not let the weeds win!

The day ended with the beautiful golden light over the farm. The bed of yarrow is in full bloom and I’ve been working little by little on preserving it. The kids played in the woods and creek and rode their bikes all afternoon (which is great!) I offered for them to use the 4 wheeler to help with the last tasks which encouraged their willingness to help. 😄

God is good! I saw a post from a friend this morning that asked how often do you see Jesus offering ‘happiness’ in the Bible. The short answer is that He doesn’t offer happiness. He offers peace. I’ve not been thrilled with all the gloomy days or the amount of rain or all the weeds. Those things don’t bring me happiness. I do have peace and hope that it won’t last forever and that makes me happy. Brighter days are ahead. Whatever is going on in your life, ignore the pursuit of happiness and go after the peace and the One who offers it!

It looks like our 3rd of the season might be a little rainy, but that’s ok! We’ll be headed there in the morning with beautiful, fresh produce, eggs, pork, and tallow products.

We hope you’ll come support us and our fellow vendors this weekend.

But… If going to the market doesn’t sound like a good time to you, then come see me at the farm store tomorrow between 9am-1pm. I’ll have all the goodies like our market setup, plus so much more including fresh sourdough breads, granola, and locally roasted coffee beans just to name a few.
