Good evening Clarksville! We just want to take a moment to thank all of you for being so loving, understanding and loyal. If someone has an issue with an order or something, we would love to hear about it in person and not receive backlash about it. We understand that we’re not going to please everyone 100% but we will try our hardest to make it 100%.
A Response to a Recent Letter
Well… we received a handwritten letter about someone’s first visit to Chi-Town. And since they took the time to put pen to paper, we figured we should take the time to respond.
First, we genuinely appreciate the feedback. Not everyone is going to love everything we serve, and we understand that. If someone doesn’t enjoy their meal, we’d rather hear about it than have them leave unhappy without saying anything.
That being said… there are a few things in this letter that deserve some clarification.
The letter mentions receiving two Chi-Town Dogs with “The Works” for $12.02, describes the dogs as “skinny,” questions the poppy seeds, and says the mustard was scarce.
Our hot dogs are the same product we have been serving, and The Works is The Works. We aren’t intentionally sending out “skinny dogs,” nor are we sitting in the back measuring mustard portions with a ruler.
And as for the poppy seeds… well, they’re kind of part of the Chicago-style experience.
We absolutely understand that everyone’s expectations are different. If someone prefers a different size dog, more mustard, fewer seeds, or a completely different style of hot dog, that’s okay. That’s personal preference, not necessarily a bad product.
What we won’t do is dismiss legitimate customer concerns. If we made a mistake on an order, we want to know about it and we’ll make it right.
But after reopening a 33-year-old Clarksville tradition, serving thousands of customers, working through the growing pains of a new operation, and doing everything we can to get Chi-Town back where it belongs, we’re also going to stand behind what we’re serving.
So to the person who wrote the letter: thank you for giving us a try. We’re sorry Chi-Town wasn’t what you expected. We truly hope you find a hot dog that better fits your expectations.
And for everyone else…
Come hungry. Come curious. Come try it for yourself.
Because around here, we’ll gladly take the criticism — but we’re not going to apologize for being Chi-Town.
