I have 5 turkey poults available for $20 a bird. They are about a month and a half old.

Heritage mixed breed. So far they have been calm when being handled.

It's been about 3 weeks since I laid eyes on all the cows.

Luckily my nephew was willing to take me around to see them all, check and fix fences and throw them some hay.

I'm pleased to see they are still looking good.

It never seems to fail right?

Whenever you leave the farm that is more than an hour away or your down and out cows find a way to get out. Lol

Had surgery on Thursday for an Achilles tendon repair for a complete tear. And cows get out.

I'm very proud of my niece in law in her successful efforts to get the cows in by her lonesome. While I was in surgery.

And very thankful today for my brother, his son and, his grandson fixing the fence when they once again got out today.

I guess a branch had fallen on the fence.

Recovery for me is close to 6+ months but the next 8 weeks I'm supposed to be non weight bearing. I really appreciate the family and friends I am able to lean on in these times of need.

Well another year has come and it still doesn't get easier for butcher day.

Today was especially hard since I decided to butcher Chancey, my bull who I have had for 5 years. He's been one of the best bulls a girl could ask for. So sweet, personable and respectful.

I am able to feed 10 different families, not including my own and extended family.

9 butcher cows was a lot to deal with when I have a bum ankle I just hurt on Saturday, and realizing I need more permanent structures to house that many cows for future butchering. In short it was just a tad smaller than a s**t show..🤦‍♀️

I have a 2 halves or whole dexter steer/heifer up for grabs if anyone is interested.

$5.50 hanging weight wholes last year were an average of 350 #

You pay kill and butcher fees.

Butcher date is August 9th.

Had some naughty cows this morning.

I am grateful they are easy naughty cows.

Came to grain, one was halter broke, another would have led if I really asked him to.

All followed back to where they were supposed to be.

Between a broken grounding wire and deer running through the fence with thunder storms happening all day yesterday it's kinda expected.

Fence fixed grounding wire reinforced. All cows accounted for and the neighbors given my phone number and know who's cows are where helps. LOL

I do love my community and my brother for helping me fix things up and catch them.

A couple of "These Hoofin' Heifers" steers are at the Columbia county fair in Oregon this week. One will be auctioned off on Saturday at the 4H/FFA auction starting at 2pm.

Our honey bees that live in our pump house are separating. 👀

Looks like they are a good and strong hive!
