Our fun, festive, fall table at the Fill Your Pantry market at the food hub! The fall celebration is going until 2pm with music, hot beverages, and warm smiles from your friends, neighbors, and favorite vendors.

We are thankful for everyone who supported our small farm this year. After today’s event we will be taking a break to be with family and friends, but we will be back early next year to do it all over again!

Susie will be in Clatskanie tomorrow from 10am to 2pm for the “Fill your pantry” market at the food hub. This will be our final market of the year so come out and support your local growers and producers and stock up on goods before Thanksgiving.

We will have apple butter, salsa, pepper jelly, celery, and fennel. There will be many other vendors and you can shop the food hub as well. Music, hot beverages, and a final celebration of the harvest season. See you there!

As cooler weather approaches next week this is your reminder that fall is the best time to plant perennials. Planting in fall allows the roots to get established during the rainy season so your plants will emerge big and beautiful in the spring with less watering during the summer.

We finished cleaning our garlic today in preparation for our favorite festival of the year! This year is the 10 year anniversary of the garlic festival in Clatskanie on August 16th. Join us and many other vendors in Cope’s Park from 10am to 3pm for a day filled with music, food, beverages, local goods, and of course a plethora of garlic. The 2025 Pollination Celebration is today! Come out and see our dear friends , Josh and Robert, who are kindly running our booth. We have blueberries, Santa Rosa plums, summer squash, Tasty Jade Asian and Diva cucumbers, Blush onions, German Butterball potatoes, pepper jelly and a variety of pollinator friendly plants. There will also be live music, a conservation bee keeping talk, the pollinator fashion show, kids activites and over 50 vendors. Come enjoy a beautiful day in Cope's Park and see what the buzz is about.

Good news! We will be returning to the Scappoose Farmers Market this year, starting this weekend!

We will be bringing some freshly harvested blueberries, potatoes, leeks, cucumbers, summer squash, and a few nursery plants. Stop by between 9am and 2pm tomorrow and come visit our booth!

It has been a while since we have dropped off plants at , but we are back with some heat tolerant plants for summer.

Basil has arrived and is ready to be planted in time for tomato season. We have three varieties this year - compact Genovese, Everleaf Thai Towers, and Kapoor Tulsi (holy basil). Compact Genovese is a classic sweet Italian basil with a tidy compact growth habit. Everleaf Thai Towers is our new favorite basil. These beautiful tall plants look great in the landscape, they maintain a perfect shape, and they are very slow to flower. Kapoor Tulsi is a wonderful holy basil with an incredible intoxicating aroma. Tulsi makes a delicious tea and is also used primarily in Thai dishes.

Another notable plant is anise hyssop, which is an aromatic herb and pollinator plant. The leaves are sweet with a delicious licorice flavor. The sugar content in the leaves combined with the licorice flavor makes it taste like candy. Makes a soothing herbal tea.

We also have the whimsical ornamental oregano, and two heat tolerant plants that will bloom all summer and fall until the first frost - Cappuccino Black-eyed Susan and Arizona Sun blanket flower.

The tables are full of amazing perennials and summer is just getting started, so stop by and shop local!

Sometimes it takes a village to keep up with the work around here. It’s the perfect excuse to have a planting party, eat delicious food, and drink local wine and cider. Looks like the weather is heading towards summer and we have some new plants at to add to your summer gardens. Cucumbers have arrived - we have three varieties to choose from including everyone’s favorite the lemon cucumber.
We also have jumbo six packs of Ring of Fire sunflowers, which feature a multicolor bloom with bold colors.
If you are looking for an interesting and hard to find herb, Mexican tarragon is a must have. Mexican tarragon is an edible and perennial marigold with tarragon/anise flavor. We like to finely chop it and add it to our cucumber salads. It blooms with lovely small yellow flowers in mid-summer. The best part is that it’ll return every year from the roots.
Last but not least, we have unloaded the last of our peppers and tomatoes. This will be it for the season, so come get some while they last!
