“Mom, where are all the ladies!?”

PSA for anyone who was considering placing an Alpine kid reservation with us in the spring- unfortunately due to a hard loss of our new herdsire we are currently reworking a majority of our breeding plans for Alpines. Once we have reworked the plans, the new breeding list will be posted ASAP. ❤️

Pardon my terrible filming skills, trying to do this solo vs. 6 doe kids is very hard to do 🥲

This year has been filled with a lot of change for us, we moved 3 milkers to a new home, a dry yearling, moving a senior herdsire in a few weeks and unfortunately lost our newest herdsire this week… however we did add a new brown and white face!

While we made a lot of cuts and moved a TON of kids to new homes, I am so pleased with our keeper doe kid pen. We only kept 2 of each breed this year (although one is a fake lamancha 😉). I am so pleased with the size of these kids, their rumps, teat placement and look at that escutcheon on the lamancha doe kid 🥵

The hard cuts and losses have taken a toll on me this year, but I know the cuts were needed to be made so that we can continue to breed and raise beautiful goats for years to come.

No doe kid this year has placed lower than 3rd. 2 out of 4 of that we took to earlier shows have earned their dry legs. Neither Togg kid has been on our show string yet but that will change come next week 🤭

SOLD DEPOSIT RECIEVED

This one is a hard one, but having a small lamancha herd means I do not need more than 2 bucks. Please read the entire posting before inquiring.

Shady Lawn AS Banana Twist is looking for a barn with new ladies to play with this fall.

Twist is one of only 2 bucks out of CH Shady Lawn Banana Crisp that the Shady Lawn herd has parted with in Crisps lifetime. If you know Crisp or any of the bananas, you know what all Twist has to offer.

❗️Twist is not available immediately but will be towards the end of October/ Beginning of November.❗️

He has one last playdate here before leaving. So please keep this in consideration before inquiring. He is not immediately available, this time frame is an estimate. He may be available sooner if his date happens earlier.

His CAE negative results are on file from March of 2026. He is not a cheap date. Please do not inquire if you are not willing to spend the money. Question for our fellow breeders, what is your current buck to doe ratio?

Example: do you have 10 does and 2 bucks? Or do you have 1 buck for every 5 does?

Super successful show day today at the Udderside of the Mitten show! Our Toggenburg doe Crimson FINALLY got 2 official legs, she now needs one more to complete her championship. 🥳

In the Lamancha division our 2 year old first freshener Lei was Grand and BOB in Ring 1 and a mention for BSDIS! While also going Reserve in Ring 2. She now needs only one more leg to finish her championship as well! 🥳

We had tons of fun catching up with so many friends, now time for a month off while we prepare for the Michigan State Fair!
