Big things are happening!

Effective Monday, June 8, the Teanaway Country Store will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays as we put the finishing touches on our newest adventure — Forage Home opening Saturday, June 13 at Suncadia.

We're excited to have hired a wonderful team to help support both stores. You'll see some familiar faces and some new ones, so please give everyone a warm welcome when you stop by. We'll be introducing the crew properly in the coming weeks.

We can't thank this community enough for your support as we embark on operating two fabulous stores in Kittitas County.

And yes—the Teanaway Country Store is still fully stocked with all the treasures, gifts, pantry favorites, and local goodies you love!

While the property remains for sale, the store is very much open for business and will continue operating five days a week until it finds its next chapter.

Thank you for supporting local, shopping small, and cheering us on. We can't wait to welcome you to Forage Home next weekend!

We’re excited to officially welcome our new Fire Danger sign! Our old one had seen better days, and this replacement has been in the works for several years. We’re honored to host it and proud to support all the work the U.S. Forest Service and wildfire crews do to help prevent and fight wildfires every season.

A few fun facts about Smokey Bear:

🐻 Smokey Bear was created in August 1944 by the U.S. Forest Service and is the face of the longest-running public service campaign in American history.
🐻 A real bear cub rescued from a 1950 New Mexico wildfire helped inspire Smokey’s story.
🐻 Smokey even has his own ZIP Code: 20252!

We are already at HIGH fire danger, so enjoy the weekend — but please be safe out there.

🔥 Avoid parking in dry grass
🔥 Make sure campfires are completely out
🔥 Follow all burn restrictions
🔥 Be extra cautious with anything that could spark a fire

These are our people.

Gravel riders, mountain bikers, casual cruisers — some days we lose count of the bikes out front. The Teanaway Valley has that kind of pull.

Don’t miss this!!!

We are very excited to bring Phil Hess back for more historical information on the early days of farming and ranching in Teanaway. Phil was a hit at last year's Speaker Series, where he also discussed the logging industry and early settler homesteads. We're looking forward to hear more next Thursday, May 21, 2026, for our first speaker of 2026, at the Carpenter House!

Teanaway Country Store is still looking for its next steward. There’s a lot of interest, but nothing signed just yet — which means the opportunity is still here for the right person.

Seattle legend Tom Douglas built a restaurant and radio empire — and now his Rub with Love spice blends are stocked right here at TCS and will be at our new store, Forage Home.

We’re proud to carry hundreds of products made right here in Washington, alongside some of the best finds from across the West.

Speaking of finds… George Clooney’s new NA brew, Crazy Mountain, just landed and the first shipment is already going fast. 🤠

And the Wild West chocolates 🍫 pair well with everything. Just saying.

Happy Mother’s Day to every kind of mom, near and far.

My daughter is a principal, and her Kindergarten & 1st grade students sent me Mother’s Day cards that I will treasure forever. I’ll be here all day, handing out free bouquets — foraged straight from the TCS yard — while they last, spreading a little more of the happiness these cards brought me.
