We have four generations of sheep now, and it's fun to compare their parenting styles. We have some ewes who are helicopter parents and some who clearly do NOT want to be stay-at-home moms. The babies all romp around having fun together, but the moms only want their own lambs, especially at feeding time.

We have more variety of color this year, with some lambs that are all white, some that are all black, and some that have patches or black legs. We can't wait to show them off this fall!

Here's Happy, wondering what all the fuss is about!
Things are pretty lively around here lately, but he's currently confined to one pen within the sheep area, to keep everyone safe. He has 10 new daughters and 8 new sons so far this year, and they don't always treat him with the caution a big ram requires!

So far this year, we've only had two bottle babies. Janet is a good mom, but she's just not producing any milk. These pictures were taken last week, when little Skipper and Gilligan were just one day old. They are both doing well with the bottle now, but it was unnatural and confusing to them at first.

As with human babies, we have to use a special formula and feed them every few hours. It's hard to get up and head to the barn in the middle of the cold nights!

Spring is springing all over at Pearson Family Farm!
We have eighteen lambs so far, and all of them are twins! It's been so much fun -- except at 2am when we have to get out of bed and go outside to bottle feed the two bottle babies! All the mamas and babies are doing well. We still have a few more ewes waiting to deliver.

They are all marked with animal-safe paint so we know which babies go with which moms, but they all know each other instinctively. Even among the crowd, the lambs and ewes can find each other.

Lambs! We have lambs! I have a lot of pictures to share, but since we're busy with lambing just now, it's hard to find the time. Here's a peek!

This is Pink, and she gave birth to twin boys on Easter morning. She delivered them outside in the oak pasture, so they were COLD! We brought them in the barn and put them in little fleece jackets to warm up. 💜 One of the lambs required special attention at first, but they're both doing great now! Pink is a good mama. 🐑

So far, we have two sets of twin girls and two sets of twin boys! More to come!
