Food and Meat Co-op

Food and Meat Co-op We’re not your average food source: we’re a community-powered co-op bringing high-quality meats & frozen food direct to you at wholesale prices.

We skip middlemen, support farms & producers, & help families fill their freezer w/food they feel good about. Cassie’s journey started with a simple need—to feed her growing family high-quality food without breaking the bank. What began as a personal mission quickly grew into a community-driven movement that’s now helping thousands of families access wholesale-priced meat, pantry staples, and more—without sacrificing quality or values.

This week’s deals are worth a look—but there’s one thing we are especially proud of: our Butcher’s Collection.

If you’ve been with the Food & Meat Co-op for a while, you probably know our ground sirloin. It started years ago when Dave took the steak trim from our meat room and turned it into what eventually became one of our most reordered products.

That idea has grown into an entire collection.

Today, Dave and Fred hand-cut and prepare products for us in our USDA-certified, inspected meat room. We can take larger wholesale cuts and turn them into the freezer-friendly packages our families actually want—while keeping costs lower than the traditional grocery-store markup.

And now there are more than 20 products in the Butcher’s Collection, including hand-cut steaks, chicken, pork, roasts, ground sirloin and some of our mixed boxes.

This is honestly one of the favorite parts of what the Co-op has become.

We started by simply trying to buy food differently and save families money. Now we’re able to buy directly, bring it into our own USDA-inspected meat room, have our own experienced meat cutters prepare it, and get it directly into your freezers.

That’s what makes the Co-op different.

Take a look at this week’s deals and see what’s been added or marked down. And if you haven’t explored the Butcher’s Collection yet, this is a great time to check it out!

GROUND PORK IS HERE!

If you love having versatile meat in the freezer, you’ll want to check this one out. Our Natural Ground Pork is a new addition to the Food & Meat Co-op, and it’s already looking like a great freezer staple.

It’s:
• All-natural — nothing added
• Antibiotic-free
• Fresh from butchering to vacuum packing, then flash frozen
• Made with just one ingredient: pork

You can choose a 10 lb case with five 2-lb packs or a 20 lb case with ten 2-lb packs, so it’s easy to pull out just what you need. And the 20-lb case comes in at just $4.09/lb!

Use it for breakfast sausage-style dishes, meatballs, burgers, tacos, pasta dishes, casseroles and so much more.

What would you make with ground pork?

Thinking about taking the plunge and buying a quarter cow?

If you’ve ever wondered How much meat do you actually get? What cuts will I receive? How much freezer space do I need? What’s hanging weight? Is it really cheaper? — we put together a guide that answers all of those questions and more.

Our newest article, Everything You Need to Know Before Buying a Quarter Cow, walks through what to expect before, during, and after your purchase, including:

How much beef you can expect to bring home
What cuts you may receive
How quarter beef pricing works
Hanging weight vs. take-home weight
How much freezer space you’ll need
Questions to ask before purchasing
How to organize and manage your beef once it arrives

And if a quarter cow sounds like more beef than you need, we also cover an option for getting pre-packaged grass-fed beef without committing to a full share.

If you've been considering buying beef in bulk, this is a good one to bookmark!

Good Morning! Today's deals are LIVE!!
It is our first-time ever sharing just a ground meats offering in one place!
We are not just featuring ground beef, but ground bison, ground pork products and ground turkey!
We also have some overstocks. We got a really good deal on 73/27 ground beef in 3lb frozen chubs. The price is excellent and priced for clearance. These are frozen and packed in March. But have a tiny bit of damage, so we got a couple dollars off extra per lb. So this is a great opportunity to get a really good deal on ground beef.
I am also keeping the extreme chicken tenderloins deal as a reminder about this crazy awesome deal...available until we hear from the supplier otherwise (could end tomorrow or in a week or two).

How long can frozen meat stay in the freezer?

Since so many of you stock up on meat from the Food and Meat Co-op, you’ve probably wondered whether that package of beef, pork, chicken, or bacon hiding in the back of your freezer is still good. The answer may surprise you!

When meat is kept continuously frozen at 0°F or below, it can remain safe indefinitely. But the recommended storage times are about maintaining the best quality.

Beef steaks & roasts: 4–12 months
Ground beef: 3–4 months
Pork chops & steaks: 4–6 months
Bacon: about 1 month
Whole chicken: up to 1 year
Chicken pieces: up to 9 months

And what about freezer burn? It doesn't necessarily mean your meat is bad! Freezer burn is primarily a quality issue caused by moisture loss.

We put together an article covering freezer storage times, freezer burn, proper packaging, thawing, power outages, and more.

Read the full article and learn how to get the most out of your freezer stash!

What’s the oldest package of meat you’ve discovered hiding in your freezer? 😂

CHICKEN TENDERLOIN DEAL ALERT!

Fresh chicken tenderloins have had a major wholesale market price drop, and we’re passing the savings directly on to our community.

20 LB CASE — JUST $49!

And we aren't exaggerating when we say : This is the LOWEST price we have seen on fresh chicken tenderloins in 2026! For comparison, we typically pay $75–$89 per case for these.

These are fresh, raw, natural, cage-free chicken tenderloins—the best part of the chicken breast! And because they require no trimming, they’re super easy to divide up and freeze.

If convenience is your thing, our already-prepped chicken tenderloins are the perfect freezer-stock-up option!

And remember, this price is tied to the wholesale market, so we can only offer it while the market stays this low.

THIS WEEK IS THE WEEK TO STOCK UP!

Good Morning Co-op Community! EXTREME DEAL ALERT!
I find the wholesale food world so fascinating. Pricing is constantly changing (which is why retail is much higher priced so they are always making money whether food goes up or down). The easiest analogy is how gasoline fluctuates. Wake up everyday with a different price...up or down. And it's not really predictable (like gasoline).
So it is often challenging with a wholesale buying club to commit to pallets or truckloads of food, but rest assured that when the market changes for the better, I am on top of it for our community and I will let you know when an extreme buying opportunity arises!
So oddly enough, food prices in the wholesale world are trending upwards (much slower than retail, but still upwards). But then sometimes there will be an insane price drop on something our community loves!
As it happens, the fresh chicken tenderloins have seen a major wholesale market drop and so it is time for our community to take advantage. In fact, the drop is so significant that in the year of 2026 with rising food prices....THIS IS THE LOWEST PRICE I HAVE SEEN ON FRESH CHICKEN BREAST TENDERLOINS!
We are able to get them for $49 per 20lb case. These are fresh, raw, natural, cage-free and super easy to repack because no trimming is needed. It's the tenderloin part of the chicken breast (the best part). We typically get these for $75-$89 per case, so this is really amazing!
You can also pay extra to have our meat cutters vacuum seal in sous vide freezer bags and completely freezer ready (and can be cooked in bag as well).
We will be offering these starting tomorrow for VIP's (and you also get another 5% off which makes them $46.55 per case for you!) and then everyone else on Thursday! We will be able to offer this price until the market changes! So THIS WEEK is the WEEK! It applies to the next closest pickup or delivery available in your area across Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Nevada.
