🌙🍺 TOMORROW… DARKNESS RETURNS TO THE BREWHOUSE. 🍺🌙

Another brew day is upon us, and this time we’re summoning an old favorite from the shadows…

🖤 NIGHTSHADE DUNKEL 🖤

This dark and mysterious lager has been very good to Backyard Aleworks, bringing home EIGHT MEDALS so far. 🏅🏅🏅

And the last time Nightshade stepped before the judges?

🔥 48 OUT OF 50! 🔥
Just TWO POINTS SHY OF A PERFECT SCORE AND A PERFECT BEER!

So tomorrow we fire up the kettle, awaken the brewing spirits, and see if we can conjure that magic one more time. 🌙✨🍺

If this batch follows in the footsteps of the ones before it, Nightshade will emerge from its lagering slumber just in time for the fall season—when cool nights, dark beer, and a little mystery belong together. 🍂🌙

🚀 TRANSMISSION RECEIVED FROM HOUSTON… 👨‍🚀🍺

After a long journey through the outer limits of the homebrew universe, a new piece of hardware touched down at Backyard Aleworks today! 🛸🏅

Our Rice Popper – Amber Rice Lager made the trip to Houston and came home with some serious space hardware. And we have to say… this might be one of the coolest medals we’ve ever received.

The astronaut. The lunar landscape. The LR32 “Brew For All” design. They absolutely knocked this one out of orbit. 🌙🚀

We’re incredibly excited to finally have it in hand today and even happier that Rice Popper represented Backyard Aleworks so well in Houston.

Houston, we have a medal. 🏅🍺👨‍🚀

Well, I may have come away empty-handed in the medal count this weekend, but I’m happy to say our collaboration brew between Backyard Buddha Brewery and Backyard Aleworks brought home some hardware! 🍺🏅

This same beer also made the trip to Tallahassee Brewfest, where it was met with lots of great feedback and comments from everyone who stopped by for a pour.

Always fun to see a collaboration come together, and even better when people enjoy what’s in the glass. Cheers to a successful collab! 🍻

🍺 Fear not, my thirsty friends… 🍺

I’ve been on the road for a little while, but that doesn’t mean the taps at Backyard Aleworks have been forgotten!

Quietly lagering away is something new, and the timing couldn’t be better for Oktoberfest season. 🇩🇪🍻

Introducing THE VALKYRIE — Franconian Rotbier, a traditional German-style red lager inspired by the beers of Franconia and Nürnberg.

Deep copper-red, malty and smooth, with that clean, crisp lager finish — 5.2% ABV and 20 IBUs. This one was brewed to be dangerously easy to raise a stein or two. 🍺

She’s still resting and lagering right now…but The Valkyrie will be ready just in time for your Oktoberfest festivities.

What a whirlwind of a weekend! 🍻🏆

I headed to the Tallahassee Beer Fest this weekend, pouring alongside my co-brewers from the PUBGuild — and after the draft lines were cleared, the dust settled, and the music stopped thumping, Dreamsicle was headed to the winner’s circle as the PEOPLE’S CHOICE BEST OF SHOW! 🍊🍺🏆

This one feels especially sweet. Dreamsicle took 2nd Place at this same event last year, and this year we came back and climbed to the top — chosen from more than 400 beers, ciders, and seltzers from professional brewers and homebrewers alike!

And the coolest part? The festival attendees were the judges. The people who bought tickets, sampled the offerings, and cast their votes chose Dreamsicle as their favorite. That makes this one pretty special.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by, voted, talked beer, followed Backyard Aleworks, and continues to support this crazy brewing adventure!

Last year: 2nd Place.
This year: People’s Choice Best of Show. 🏆

🎉🚀 Well, what a pleasant surprise!

We sent our beers off to an intergalactic brewing competition, and they came back with some hardware! 🍻🏅

🥈 Euro Ember (our Amber Rice Lager) brought home the Silver Medal, proving it can compete with the best in the galaxy.

And while Stein Tease just missed the podium, I’m still incredibly proud of it. It advanced to the Mini Best of Show and earned a fantastic 43 out of 50. That’s the kind of score that tells you you’re knocking on the door.

The journey doesn’t stop here—we know exactly where we’re headed next, and that’s up! Every batch teaches us something, every competition makes us better, and we’re just getting started.
