Perfect in tea or on a biscuit...look to local, raw honey for natural allergy relief! :)

Another season starts! I caught our ladies in my blueberry patch....If the weather holds, I'll be opening the boxes up this weekend for the first spring checks. So far, the out of the box observation, everything looks like it's humming along!

It's not officially spring until you are chased around the bee yard by the guard bees, AFTER the guard bees have run your poor husband in the house. In the bees' defense, the husband DID smash one of their colony members while defending the beekeeper...trying times on the mountain... :)

Braved the elements to unblock hive entrances...snow on the hives doorstep can lead to ventilation problems, which can kill an overwintering hive. Notice the prints in the snow. I had a helper - Max the Schnauzer. But, notice in the second picture, my foot prints head to the bee yard, his head to the shed....where he sat, patiently, on the seat of the Kubota, out of the sleet and snow, while i worked. Rotten Mutt!
