It got down to 37°. I worried about them all night. They didn't sleep under the warming plate. Instead, they all piled up in corner. I ended up putting a heat lamp outside the coop. I aimed it at the wall that they were sleeping against. They all made it, so I guess I don't have to worry anymore with this batch. They are only 2½ weeks old!

We've managed to keep them all alive up until now. But it's going to get down to 37 degrees by morning. I hope they make it. I took this video a few days ago. Their wings are all feathered out now.

Our first try with incubators was a success! 16 chicks. Much less trouble for us than with mama hens. Which do you prefer: incubators or mama hens? Jennifer Wilcox
