I just went out to the garden for the first time in weeks. It's overgrown, stuff is dead and weeds are everywhere.
The heat took away my will and my ability to work outside. Outside was my enemy. But..... I could feel wanting to get back to it and make it beautiful again. I could feel wanting to get out there and pull the dead away. I want to make room for the beauty of fall to come through. I'm not quite there yet but I can feel the stirring. Maybe about 10 more degrees down and I can see myself spending the entire evening out there working.

Nannie, Mary Alice Curtis released three of her monarchs in our yard this week.

We have had lots of these butterflies on the cone flowers. More butterfly action this week than all summer.

Thank you Poppy, Daniel William McDonald, for the dehydrator. We can dry so many herbs and flowers so quickly now! It was taking 3 to 4 weeks for them to completely dry out. Now we can do all these racks in only 10 to 12 hours! Our collection for Take Root Studio is really going to increase now.
