Would anyone like a little Turkey on this Thursday? Last week when I was distillery-hopping through KY, I stopped by . I might have been hoping for a Gold Foil release, but no such luck. They did, however, have a bottle of it at the bar and I figured I’d give it a try.

First, it’s a $60 pour for a half oz which isn’t a great price, but the WT bar can run a little pricey so it was less than I had anticipated. I do think that this is a really fantastic release. Tastes exactly what you’d hope dusty Turkey would taste like. As great as this one is, I do think I may still prefer RR15 to it. They didn’t have the RR15 at the bar (apparently it’s been gone for like a year), but I’d really love to compare those two side by side.

Have you tried this release yet? Would you pay $400 for this bottle if you had the opportunity to buy it?

Still recovering from the weekend today. Amazing day-trip to KY to heal the soul and some great times with friends. Also, there’s just something that resets your head after spending some time on the patio in some beautiful weather with a drink in your hand, live music playing, and some of their truffle fries (IYKYK).

Got to spend an awesome afternoon at yesterday doing their Barrel Select Warehouse Experience. This is a paid ticket event that you can purchase through your Sazerac membership. The tickets open on Wednesday and have been pretty difficult (like any BT ticket) to get ahold of. But we finally snagged some and I had to share about this really cool experience.

For this event, you get to try 3 Buffalo Trace pours at barrel proof, then try all 3 proofed down to 90, and pick one to take home with you. The price of the bottle is even covered in the cost of your ticket. Super cool experience that I’d recommend if you can get your hands on the tickets!

Releasing today at 11am at all 3 locations are the 2026 Artist Series featuring a Whiskey War Barrel Select with a PX & Oloroso Sherry Finish and a Barrel Select Statehouse Gin finished in Madeira & Sangiovese Casks. This year, the art on the bottles is created by Akron artist Caleb Aronhalt .

The whiskey is a stunner with a fruit-forward palate, drinking dangerously below its proof- it’s chuggable 😋 These will make their way to select OHLQ locations in June as well. Jump on these while you can!

Happy fRYEday! So typically these 117 releases from haven’t been too hard to get my hands on…. BUT, this High Angels’ Share Rye has been elusive AF. Apparently it’s a pretty small batch and (until now) I had not even seen it on a bar. I finally got to try it at the distillery bar recently… and damn, it is delicious. If you see this one, don’t hesitate.

It may be Weller Wednesday, but I had to make an exception… released their 4 Grain for the second Wednesday in a row. It was a super smooth process (I was told they learned from last week 😬🫣). Really excited to pick this one up! Happy Wednesday, friends!

Got to spend some time at today which (lucky enough) also coincided with a special single barrel Wheat Penny release. This was our first time visiting the distillery which is in a beautiful, old, historic brick building that used to be the Consolidated Fruit Auction House. Honestly, this couldn’t be a cooler property for a Cleveland Distillery. It was such a fun time. Of course, we also picked up the special release which is still currently available (it’s a distillery only release). If you haven’t checked them out, do so!

We lived in the Pittsburgh area for about 7 years before we landed back in Ohio. We still pop over from time to time and we were ridiculously excited to get to go back and hang out with the fine folks at . We had previously stopped into the gift shop and did some sampling, so we knew how great this visit was going to be. But ICD President and Master Distiller Matt Strickland (along with Austin, Eddie, and Belinda) showed us one hell of a time! Some of the nicest people, incredible whiskey, and a beautiful distillery.

We took home this bottle of this visit. It’s an absolutely fantastic release that showcases the beauty of PA rye. If you haven’t checked these guys out yet, do yourself a favor and do so! They’re definitely cooking up some big things.
