andddd that’s a wrap on the 2021 CSA season…
can hardly believe it. what a freaking journey!
this season was anything but easy, and despite many challenges, learning curves and adaptations, the flowers were more beautiful than ever. so grateful to The Cut Flower Collab this year for providing a diverse array of blooms to supplement with, truly community supported agriculture indeed.
reflecting on the season, I’m immensely proud of the nearly twenty thousand (!!) flowers & foliage that were planted, harvested and wrapped using regenerative practices in a rapidly changing climate. then shared with more than 80 community members around the greater cleveland area.
thank you to incredible flower hosts, Room Service , Phoenix Coffee & SHED Boutique and Wellness 💐 and partnership with Ohio City Farm 💕
& endless thank you’s to fellow steward Jules and the many hands that helped make this first year going full time one for the books.
this season interrogated everything I knew about farming, in ways I naively thought I’d become proficient at. the learning never ever ends. joy can reverberate in multitudes if you let it. the flowers will always find a way.
now for some rest before the winter season begins. ya girl is tucker’d.
love to you all 🖤

It is so amazing to see plants growing right outside of the city, a place that doesn’t really have a lot of green surrounding it. There is this great new documentary on Netflix that discusses the best ways to grow our produce and protect our planet at the same time. The film is called Kiss the Ground and it portrays the benefits of nourishing our soil through regenerative agriculture. This process helps the dirt collect the carbon in the atmosphere as it gets absorbed by the plant life. This helps not only our crops, but our climate as well. The movie also takes the time to explain this whole technique in such a simple way so everyone can understand it. This is a great watch for anyone interested in finding out more about our environment and planet. I highly recommend it!
On our special menu this weekend is our creamy sweet corn soup with herbs and cumin.

Rainer Bürkert, a member of the Würth Group's Central Managing Board, recently visited several of our locations across the U.S. accompanied by CEO, Dan Hill, and VP of Product Management, Data, & Customer Experience, Daniel Schmidt.
Along the way, the team, joined by Dan's wife, Sarah, stopped in Dan's hometown of Cleveland and visited Ohio City Farm, one of the largest contiguous urban farms in the U.S. that supplies thousands of pounds of fresh, organic produce to the community. The farm is operated by The Refugee Response, a non-profit that works to empower refugees to become self-sufficient and contributing members of their new communities. The team enjoyed learning more about the farm and trying some of its delicious produce!
