Throw back Thursday to our old bottling line! Which was originally manufactured in 1996. We got it from a brewery in Kansas in 2015 and it had bounced around through several others along the way. The equipment was made in Italy and consisted of (from left to right) an infeed conveyor for empty bottles, a bottle rinser, the filler and crowner (at center), discharge conveyor and infeed into the cold glue labeller, then finally a collection table. The line ran at 50 bpm max, although often less. The label machine had stations for a neck label, body front and body rear labels. They were often askew! We dubbed that beast 'Gluecifer'. We ran the line from 2016 until 2022, when we went full time with cans.
In 2018 we started canning alongside bottling. In 2022, when we got rid of the bottler, we added all the ancillary canning equipment and conveyance, then in 2023 we added the new filler and seamer. It's always fun to revisit how it started!
