Farmer Tropiano Community Garden The 1/4 acre community garden is located in Tony Brush Park in the heart of Little Italy.

Domenic "Farmer" Tropiano Community Garden enjoyed its opening season in 2010 and includes garden plots for the neighboring Montessori School at Holy Rosary, as well as registered local residents. Post here for more information about renting a plot, events and donations!

We have a full garden! Hooray! All the plot spaces are filled and we are developing a waiting list for the garden spaces. This season is off to a great start with unusually warm weather and the water access greatly improved. Thank you to Seth and Jonah who did most of the work and Dana for hosting a great get together. well, the garden was torn up for a week but we finally got our access to water down to the back of the garden. Thank you to all the people who showed up in the freezing rain and the intense sun those two days. The final touches will be made soon...

I met with a professional about our grape vines and how to care for them. They need a serious pruning which I can do soon, but some of them need to be removed. I can relocate some to the other side of the gate but I would prefer to find them homes. They are "Canadice" eating grapes, I will prune them back to a strong leader and they can be dug out ASAP. I will mark the ones to go with a string.
