Big day today!!!

Certificate of Occupancy.

What does that mean? It means our building has passed all codes and required permits to do its purpose in the city. Thanks to all our hard-working contractors for making it happen.

I was in the shop late tonight getting some stuff done on the retail side of the building. Heard a little knock on the front door.

2 Nice young men on their bikes/scooters stopped in to see how long until we are open. The one young man says to me "I really like meat markets"

We can't wait to open and get a chance to meet everyone, the city of Cleveland and it's citizens have been great to us thus far. Hope to see you guys all soon.

Every week is another huge accomplishment and change. Privacy fence along one side of the building. When we bring in live birds, we don't want them annoying our neighbor.

Slaughter room is set up now. All new Poultryman Equipment with the largest automatic scalder they make, their largest plucker, and a 12-18 cone kill station. Hanging on the wall is a stun knife to ensure we butcher humanely.

Private bath with shower to make sure the kids and I can get cleaned up before heading home.

Red Beard Plumbing MN did absolutely amazing work for us. Tanner and George are great guys. Plumbing inspections were done today and all is good to go.

B & P Construction Co. , Inc. has finished up all there work and we couldn't be happier. Larry and Brandon Baringer did great work for us. No matter how many changes we made they rolled with it and exceeded all our expectations. Larry handled all the General stuff for me and let me focus on licensing, equipment and stressing in general.

Neussemeier Electric handled everything no matter the changes. Once we get the electrical signed off on by the inspector, we will be able to get our Certificate of Occupency.

Now we are working on getting the last of our equipment in and working on licensing. We have a new sign in the works and hope to open up to the public to meet the family and for us tk meet the community and give some tours. Very exciting stuff happening.

Lots of improvements again. We get epoxy on the floors Friday. Our privacy fence hopefully on Monday. So much progress.

Things are starting to come together at the shop. Even had a local MDA inspector come down to see if they would forsee any issues. It's definitely a process.

Crazy how things are progressing. We truly do have the best contractors making this all possible. And so happy to be using local people whenever possible.

Well thanks to Dahline Poultry we will have another beautiful batch of cornish cross chickens to process in 7 weeks. It's the only place we will get ours from and once we can get our storefront opened this summer, it'll be the ones we have available for all of you.

Love coming out to the shop and seeing so much happening. Thanks to Red Beard Plumbing, Nuessemeier Electric, and BP Construction for all the work you guys are doing to keep us progressing. It's starting to feel real.

Really hard to believe all the transformations going on in this building now. The building is starting to look like what its going to become. Thanks to all our contractors for all their hard work and many changes we've made already.

Tomorrow we meet with our great electricians to make sure we have all the power we need in all the right spaces. Then we can get plumbing and electrical done before we cover up the walls. Then, we will be able to start moving in equipment and it'll start to take shape some more.
