Life on the farm has been busy, busy, busy! 🌱🐑🚜
We’ve been hard at work reseeding two of our pastures, giving the land a little extra care so it can continue giving back to our animals for seasons to come.
Reseeding helps establish a healthier, more diverse pasture with fresh grasses and forage for our sheep and other animals to graze. Strong pasture growth also means better ground cover, healthier soil, improved water retention and less erosion — all important pieces of the regenerative farming practices we’re continuing to build at Fern Hall.
By rotating our flock and allowing pastures time to rest and regenerate, we’re working with the land rather than simply taking from it. 🌎💚 Healthier soil grows healthier forage, which feeds healthier animals — and the cycle continues.
Now we wait for a little rain and let Mother Nature do her thing! 🌧️🌱🐑
