Proud Grandma moment, 5 of 7 grandchildren were in school band concerts tonight. The other two were either too young or graduated. The graduate was a good French horn player while in high school.

Our fifth and final live auction item to present is:

Chef Liz Huff of Catalpa is coming out of fine dining hiding to execute a retro Catalpa dining experience for eight in your home!

Chef Liz and and her Sous Chef, Amanda, will arrive at your home with all of the ingredients to put together a Four Course Feast. The menu will include some of her most popular menu items from years past:

Spanakopita, Garlic Shrimp and Seared Buttonwood Farms Chicken Breast with Raw Apple Reduction and Brandied Apple Cherry Chutney. Individual Pear Almond Tarts with Butterscotch Rum Sauce will be served for dessert.

This amazing experience will begin in the afternoon as a class (for those wanting to learn) and will conclude with a seated dinner. Plan on the entire event to last around 5 hours.

Harvest is finished for this year! The guys finished up the last few patches of beans Wednesday. They are doing some dirt work especially on some terraces. One of the farms got a huge downpour early in the summer and the water cut through the middle of the terraces.
School is virtual for all of the grandkids. I think the Mommas are ready for kids to be back in school seats! I taught elementary school for many years and it is so much easier for most to children to learn in a consistent environment. They do like routine.
Much of our family is being very cautious about social distancing. That means Thanksgiving is going to be quite different this year. About 15 will be missing. However we are fixing the usual dinner and making plates to share. We will still have our kids and grandkids.

A new metal post was put in for a gate this morning and the cows seemed pretty interested when they guys used the torch to cut holes for the hinges. I suspect the cows were more interested in seeing the gate down! Interest faded quickly and there were some defeated looks as the gate went back up and they all went back on their merry way.
