💧 Sustainability on the farm often means making the most of every resource—including water!

As part of our new parlor construction, we're installing these large water collection tanks in the center of the parlor. Water used during the milking process will be captured and reused to flush the holding area, reducing our overall water consumption while maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for our cows.

Rafters are up for first quarter of the barn and they are adding the purlins. Purlins are the smaller galvanized horizontal members running lengthwise along the roof. They support the roof panels between rafters and the steel roof will be attached directly to them.

Starting on the Big Barn. 500' wide by 880' this barn will provide a comfortable space for all of our cows. Right now cows are milked at three locations which creates more working trucking animals between sites and hauling feed to each location

Planting crops takes a lot of organization these days, we are thankful to have John Deere Operations Center to keep track of everything. It takes information from equipment in the field and turns it into maps, reports, and real-time updates. It tracks everything from number of seeds planted, to fuel levels in the tractor, to what fields get which crops.

We’re thrilled to be partnering with Signet on the assembly of our steel buildings. Their crew has been hard at work through both the cold spring days and the recent heat, and we’ve appreciated the effort and professionalism they bring to the project every day.

One thing that stands out is their strong focus on safety — from high-visibility gear and harnesses to the safety lines used while working at heights.

These photos show the crew installing the ceiling in the parlor. Interestingly enough, the ceiling goes on before the roof — something most people probably wouldn’t expect.
