Join us this weekend as we pour three wines from Austria, one of our favorite wine-producing countries and one that’s perfect for summer drinking.

Steininger Grünschnabel Grüner Veltliner 2025
Fresh, crisp, and full of bright citrus flavors, this classic Austrian white is light, refreshing, and incredibly food friendly. It’s the kind of wine that’s just as enjoyable on the patio as it is with lunch or a light dinner.

Hillinger Zweigelt 2024
Austria’s signature red grape offers juicy cherry fruit with a touch of chocolate and soft, smooth texture. Easy to enjoy, whether you’re already a red wine fan or looking for something new.

Hillinger Blaufränkisch 2024
A more structured Austrian red with notes of blackberry, blueberry, baking spice, and pepper. Richer and more savory than the Zweigelt, with enough depth to pair beautifully with grilled meats and hearty dishes.

Stop by this weekend to taste all three wines, learn a little about Austria’s wine regions, and discover why these wines continue to be some of our favorite finds.

We also just finished our summer refresh, and the shop is packed with new arrivals and returning favorites from all over the wine world! We brought back plenty of Austrian favorites from Steininger, Paul D., and Hillinger, plus Rock Ferry Central Otago Pinot Noir, Zephaniah Virginia wines, Eola Hills Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Vinho Verde, Chianti, Malbec, and a bunch of easy-drinking 1-liter bottles.

Happy Father’s Day!

I’ll be at The Wine Attic of Clifton today from 12–6 PM, and we’re featuring a special wine tasting for the day: Nebbiolo & Friends.

Today’s tasting lineup:

We’ll start with Gavi, then work our way through Nebbiolo from Langhe to Barolo and Barbaresco while talking about one of Italy’s great wine regions: Piemonte.

From one dad to another, I don’t think Father’s Day needs to be a big production. Maybe you’re grilling, maybe you’re enjoying the weather, maybe your kids are working today and you’re quietly proud of that (like both of mine are).

If your day brings you through Clifton — maybe before or after visiting one of our great local restaurants — I’ll be upstairs and happy to show you a great time.

It’s a busy day at The Wine Attic of Clifton!

Cases are arriving, shelves are being restocked, and we’re finally seeing some familiar favorites make their way back into the shop.

If you’ve stopped in recently and noticed a few empty spots, keep checking back. New wines are arriving today, and we’re excited to start filling the shelves out again.

Meanwhile, Team USA takes on Australia today at 3 PM in Seattle.

New Zealand, Austria, Croatia, and Team USA are on the schedule — come talk wine with us this week.

The World Cup continues this week, and several countries close to our hearts are on the schedule!

The Carrau family is one of Uruguay’s most historic wine-producing families, and Francisco will be here in person to pour, answer questions, and share the story of his family’s winery.

June Wine Club is here — Taste & Trade this weekend + Francisco Carrau visits Monday

June Wine Club has arrived!

This month we're visiting Barnard Griffin Winery in Washington's Columbia Valley, one of the pioneering family wineries that helped establish modern Washington wine. The lineup includes Riesling, Rosé of Sangiovese, Syrah, and Merlot, and arrives with a story that unexpectedly connects Washington, Austria, family wineries, and the next generation of women helping shape the future of wine.

It's also a special month for us because today is Renée's birthday. As the June Wine Club story explains, somewhere between Austria, Washington, Riesling, family wineries, Griffins, and a few Led Zeppelin references, this month's club quietly became a birthday tribute to Wifely herself.

This weekend we had the pleasure of hosting a private in-home tasting focused on the wines, regions, and producers we just visited during our Austria wine tour.

One of our favorite things about wine is how much more meaningful it becomes when you connect the bottle to a place, a family, a meal, and a story — and Austrian wine gives us so much to talk about.
