Your light is valuable. Put it where it’s appreciated, not just consumed.

We will never get to see a dinosaur in our lifetime. But we got to TOUCH one!💪🏾😍

Okay… technically, a piece of one…and I’m not even gonna lie…it was super COOL.

Dinosaurs actually walked this earth millions of years ago. Now they’re extinct, so none of us will ever know what it feels like to actually see one standing in front of us.

But to put our hands on something that was actually part of one? Yeah… that really brought the connection home.

There are still so many things in this world I’ve never seen, touched or experienced before. And you know what?!…I really like finding out what I’ve been missing.

There are, however, levels to this curiosity…Apparently, paleontologists will sometimes put their tongue to a rock as part of figuring out whether they’re looking at bone…and that’s the part where I was cooked…I want to touch a dinosaur not taste one love. 😭🦖

Would you?!

We’re not an “on-fire” couple.

Life brings enough fire of its own.

We’re a been-through-the-fire-and-kept-choosing-each-other couple.

Because marriage isn’t about keeping some imaginary flame blazing every single day. It’s about finding someone you can walk through the fire with and come out the other side still intact. Still choosing. Still us. ❤️‍🔥

When your joy is rooted in God, people and circumstances don’t get to decide whether you have a good day.

Sometimes it’s just a good song, a red light and a grateful heart on the way to the work site. 😂💪🏾😘

Find something to be grateful for today. Then enjoy your day like you mean it! ❤️

Most people look for an escape from their life. Not me.

I want to become so present in my own life that I never feel the urge to run away. Instead of fleeing negative energy, I build a fortress right where I stand. 🏰🔒

One of the ways I do that is with a garden "moat." No castle, no water: just a powerful, intentional barrier. Not just anybody is getting across this line.

“They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles…” — Isaiah 40:31 🦅

Sometimes “waiting on God” looks like standing still.

Sometimes it looks like rebuilding.

Sometimes it looks like doing things you never imagined yourself doing once you finally get your strength back.

And apparently sometimes… it looks like me dangling over a Mexican jungle. 😂

Either way, waiting on God was never wasted time. I found my life…when I laid it down!🙌🏾💯🙏🏾

People laughed when I wanted something different. That used to matter more than I care to admit.

But I accepted my wilderness season with God. I got quiet. I stopped scrambling to explain myself. I spent enough time with Him that His voice eventually became louder than everybody else’s noise.

And that changed everything.

Now I don’t need a room full of people to enjoy myself. I don’t need applause to know I’m doing well. I can laugh, create, explore, grow, be silly, be serious, be alone or be surrounded by people and still be me.

That is freedom.

Because some people are out here coaching everybody, influencing everybody, correcting everybody and telling everybody how to live… while their own joy still rises and falls depending on who approves of them.

That’s not freedom.

I’m grateful I took the long way with God.

The peace.
The assurance.
The confidence.
The ability to enjoy my own life without performing it for anybody.

That was the prize.

And best believe… I’m keeping it.

I pursued the careers that sounded more impressive. In that, I collected many accomplishments and proved I was capable.

But gardening kept finding me. Farming found me. Growing plants found me…eventually, it all led me back to the landscaping I was once afraid to claim.

That’s what happens when you get quiet enough to hear God over everybody else’s opinions.

You stop shrinking to fit their box. You stop needing to be understood. You stop asking permission to love what you love.

Sometimes, finding yourself is simply returning to who you were before the world told you who to be.

My business model: seek first the Kingdom of God…and each time I tack on new skills, I smile…He equips the chosen.😉
