They may look like little sleeping angels but with their ultra strong snouts and curious nature pigs are hard on buildings and equipment. Keeping their waterers functioning properly is an ongoing task.

An exciting week for Cale. Today he graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology majoring in Mechanical Engineering with concentrations in Thermal Fluids and Aerospace Engineering. He was recognized as a Heminway Scholar earning a 4.0 grade point for all four years. Plus earlier this week he passed his private pilot check ride and is now a licensed pilot. After doing some traveling this summer he will be starting a new job at the Caterpillar Lafayette IN Engine Center as part of the Air Systems team.

Late May on the farm. Lots of life in the pastures..insects, goats, cattle, birds, hogs and sheep. Plus some projects completed and 2 inches of rain. Yeehaw!

Here is a nifty skill if you ever need to drain liquid. Don't be discouraged if it takes a couple tries to get the liquid flowing. You need to get all the air out of the hose and not let any air in until the hose end is below the level of the liquid.

A special day as we celebrate Knic. He graduated from Purdue University with a double major in Engineering Technology Teacher Education and Building Information Modeling. After a summer working on the farm doing construction and IT projects plus some traveling, he will return to Purdue to complete his Master's degree in STEM Educational Leadership while serving his fourth year as a resident assistant in Wiley residence hall. In addition to thesis work he will be a teaching assistant for the freshman course of Design Thinking in Technology. Once his Master's is completed in the summer of 2027, he is looking forward to teaching technology and engineering for grades 7-12.

Wow! It has been a wonderful spring, with the mix of plentiful rain and cool, sunny days the animals and pastures are thriving.

Mother's day came true with four new sets of goat twins born today. That makes 55 new arrivals in the past two weeks.

Morning animal care duties.
🐐check for new goat kids- none in the morning but a set of triplets and a set of twins later in the day
🐑 three groups of sheep take some time to care for. Five bottle lambs, mothers of triplets get extra feed and check the twins and singles and their moms plus the yearlings.
🐂move the cattle to fresh pasture plus take down and put up a lot of temporary fence and move hoses and water tank
