We lost another great one yesterday...a genuine spokesman for farmers everywhere, Wendell Berry. So many of his words ring true for us, but perhaps this year, this poem gives a nod to our grieving the loss of his voice and to our work in finding our next steps as a program that supports the learning of farmers old and new, gardeners, and eaters.
OUR REAL WORK
It may be that when we no longer know what to do
we have come to our real work,
and that when we no longer know which way to go
we have come to our real journey.
The mind that is not baffled is not employed.
The impeded stream is the one that sings.
- Wendell Berry
