Microplastics! Sigh.....if only we had other options like wool.

Every time you wash a synthetic jacket, it sheds hundreds of thousands of plastic fibres into the water. 🌊

They pass through water treatment plants. End up in the ocean. In the food chain. In human blood, organs, breast milk. Globally, washing synthetic clothes releases the equivalent of 50 billion plastic bottles worth of microfibres into the ocean every year.

The fashion industry has known about this for a long time. It hasn't exactly been front-page news.

The "recycled polyester" stuff being sold as sustainable? Still sheds. Still plastic. Still accumulates.

Wool fibres shed too — but they're natural protein fibres. Same as hair. They biodegrade. They don't build up. Sheep grow a new fleece every year. No petroleum required.

The choice is pretty simple when you look at it that way: clothes that return to nature, or plastic pollution for centuries.

Ok fine it's a free love farm and I hope it was all consensual! But really a Jacob with a LLW ram? Sigh.....the ram has since been moved to the boys side! When she looked prego, I thought oh s**t! No way but here we are. I'm traveling and my son sent me this pic. I thought he put a helmet on this lamb! Like weird is mom putting him in the car seat too long? Head flattening out? But no very weird markings. This first time mom is crazy smart to mark her dry spot under the solar panels in a down pour. This lamb is eligible for adoption.

This is Ruth. Ruth is a matriarch, about 13 years old. She is one of two of the first Merino's I bought. Ruth is past the age where she should be having lambs. She was across the way on a pasture I rent. I went down to the barn to take care of the alpacas and boys still by the barn. Ruth was literally standing at the gate waiting for me, obviously pregnant. Now any other sheep would have taken the opportunity upon their escape to eat anything and everything. Not her, she's always gotten out of wherever she is to find me when she's about to deliver, a decade of it. There's no other ewe like her in my experience. Here's to hoping she has a smooth delivery.
