Crooked Run Vineyards

Crooked Run Vineyards Producers of Fine Alcohol-Free Muscadine Grape Products With the help of their three sons, the land was prepared and the first vines were planted in 2009.

Crooked Run Vineyards began when John and Deborah Thompson sought out to do something different with the 19 acre field across from their home. The vineyard was named after the oddly shaped black locust posts that were used to build the single wire trellises that span the vineyard. The Thompson’s seek to provide fresh pack Muscadine grapes, Muscadine Juice, and other Muscadine products. In their vi

neyard, the Thompson family grows four varieties of Muscadine grapes. Tara, Triumph, and Supreme are “table grapes,” which are sold commercially and at the vineyard. The Noble variety was processed into the Muscadine juices that are available for purchase locally for the first time in 2013. The vineyard opens for “pick your own” days mid-September through October, where locals can enjoy picking their own Muscadines and purchase them by the pound. The fresh Muscadine juice is available starting in late November each year.
