Sunflower—Up Close: The beauty of sunflowers cannot be denied. Each sunflower head may contain between 1000-2000 seeds, some even more than that. We are in that beautiful window of summer where sunflowers are emerging across the region. Thorn Farms in Clyde, NY has been farming the land for some 200 years—the Thorn family has kept the tradition forging ahead, Daniel Thorn has maintained the legacy. They grow an estimated one million sunflowers each season and sell sunflower seed, mixed wild bird seed, oats, hay and straw.
