Texas: where people move here for the Hill Country sunsets, wide-open ranch land, bluebonnet fields, pine forests, and small-town charm… then suddenly everything turns into “Lone Star Ranch” or “Cactus Creek Estates” after bulldozing mesquite trees and pastureland. 🤠💀
One minute it’s: • winding backroads through the Hill Country
• cattle grazing beside old wooden fences
• bluebonnets covering the fields every spring
• quiet small towns with old courthouses and BBQ joints
• rivers, lakes, and wide Texas sunsets
• ranches and farmland stretching for miles
Then suddenly: BOOM. Now it’s: • thousands of identical beige rooftops
• fake decorative ponds called “Longhorn Lake”
• nonstop traffic where ranch land used to be
• chain restaurants and storage units every mile
• and one lonely oak tree left standing by the subdivision sign. 😭
Texas’ beauty is why people fall in love with the state. The Hill Country. The piney woods of East Texas. The ranches. The rivers. The deserts. The little towns that still feel untouched. 🌅🌵 Once it gets covered in endless subdivisions, you don’t really get that Texas back. Sometimes the best part of Texas is the land that’s still wild, quiet, and untouched. ✋💙
