When the storm hit and I lost months of flowers and years of hardwork that went into nurturing perennials, building raised beds and perfecting my timing; I cried. And I have cried several times since.
This year my June crops looked spectacular. I nailed my timing. I had orlaya that was up to my chest! I was planning on cutting it in a couple days. (It's totally flat now.)
We are still slowly cutting and clearing away all the trees. Some more branches came down in the last couple days from a casual storm (i suspect they were hung up in branches above from the first storm).
I will rebuild. I'm learning to live with the altered time frame of my season, and leaning into the fact that now I know good timing and placement for several crops so I can build back better. I'm focusing on enjoying the flowers that survived and sharing the joy Elsa and Bluu have from all the sticks down in the yard. 🤣
