When Andy and I decided to stay focused on selling our meats and eggs only within our local community, it was a commitment to our passion for providing healthy and quality meats and eggs to our neighbors. And 10 years after that decision, we feel incredibly grateful for all the ways our community has supported our farm and brought us opportunities we never anticipated!
We would like to thank the amazing Koren Bousley for not only choosing to source local ingredients for J Bo's Toasted Cheese sandwiches, but giving us the opportunity to provide our grass fed beef bologna and cotto salami as two of their meat choices!
So it is with our great pride and pleasure to advertise that J Bo's is now open in Coatesville, Monday through Saturday 11am to 7pm!
When you eat one of their delicious handcrafted sandwiches, your purchase is not only supporting an amazing small business owner and her kiddos, you are also participating in a rare, hyper-local community supply chain...farm to restaurant to consumer, keeping dollars in the county, uplifting community resources.

Yes, the Greencastle Farmers Market is tomorrow morning, and yes, it's happening rain or shine!
Thankfully it looks like the rain may only be around early so most of the market timeframe should be perfect for shopping local vendors! And we have lots of new vendors this season to check out!

We had just given the cattle access to new grazing in our field of cover crops and they spread out in a line, moving forward almost in unison. While we couldn't have planned on them doing such an efficient job of grazing all in a row, but by planning out each section of grazing area and strategic moves, the cattle are able to evenly spread their manure and urine fertilizing our soil for the seeds we will be planting next in this fields. And the cattle get delicious plants like clover, peas and oat grass to fill up on as well.

What's it like having over 150 laying hens on the farm?

A never ending egg hunt.

90% of our hens do actually use our mobile coop and stay within the fenced in pasture we provide them. But there are always those hens who have to strike out on their own...get creative with where they choose to lay their eggs...every day a new nesting location. Most of these eggs find us- by accidentally stepping on them.

This hen found our spelt wagon (organically grown spelt that we are using in our hog and chicken feed mixture) and decided that this spot was juuust right to lay a pretty dark brown egg. Far from human reach. And also far from her own ability to get back out of the grain wagon!
I'm carrying a ladder to put in the wagon for her to be able to get herself out because catching a hen in the bottom of a slippery slanted wagon is not on my to do list today.
So when you purchase our fresh nonGMO eggs, just know that we are only using our freshest of fresh eggs laid by our well behaved hens. The eggs laid by the rebel hens and hidden all over the farm are mostly feeding the wildlife...unless we accidentally step on one when walking through tall grass setting up fence in the pasture.

The 4H Rabbit Club is having a huge yard sale with proceeds benefiting a local family in need, and the 4H Poultry Club is having their silent auction fundraiser!
Grab all your favorites from your local farmers, growers, bakers, makers and creators today from 9 to 2pm then shop to support your 4H community!

We will be at the Winter Farmers Market hosted by the Putnam County Fairgrounds tomorrow from 10am to 2pm!
We will have a full selection of our meats and eggs available tomorrow! As always, if you want to secure certain cuts or eggs for yourself, please put your order in by 9pm tonight for us to have those ready for you to pick up!
This event will be indoors at the York Community Building at the Putnam County Fairgrounds, 10am to 2pm!

The Doc's Inn is having their first Sunday Supper of 2026 tomorrow! Reserve your spot today to enjoy a delicious culinary and wine experience in the charming atmosphere of their Victorian-era Inn in Downtown Greencastle!
Not only is this event a taste of fine dining, it also boasts locally produced foods on the menu. Both our 100% grass fed beef and 100% grass fed lamb are featured on the menu. Chef Kate has created lamb bacon with our lamb belly, she has planned a braised dish with our beef ox tail and Airy K**b Farm's chicory in a tomatillo broth.
