The land was first farmed shortly after the first settlers arrived sometime in the 1750s. Shortly after the Revolutionary War, Nathan Mitchell and his family established themselves on the land. in and now shares space with Butchie’s, established in 2011. Butchie’s Organic Farm is NOFA-NY Certified Organic & Certified Naturally Grown. We believe in and follow humane practices for all our livestock. Part of the growing sustainable movement, Butchie’s is committed to the health of our community, soil, plants and animals. Our methods and materials are of minimal impact to the environment and we never use antibiotics, growth hormones, synthetic fertilizers, pesticides or GMOs.
