The wind has finally calmed so Allen can put on the roof and I can put the linoleum inside.

Morgan and I chose Brahma chickens because they’re known to be friendly. We didn’t know that they are huge chickens. They are growing quickly and now at only 5 weeks old they are bigger than our bantam chickens were as adults. Everything needs to be much bigger than our previous chicken coop and run. We have to work quickly because all 10 survived their baby chick lives and are outgrowing their brooder (I’ve had to enlarge it 3 times already!)

After a great horn owl took all of our ducks and all chickens except our ornery rooster, we have decided to try again. We’re starting with chickens and building a new coop. We’re using scrap lumber from our barn and making a mini version of it.

Working on the inside. Half of living space done. Onto living room and kitchen.

Well, we have come a long way in a year. Staining and putting in some walls and bathrooms are in the near future. Then, we’ll concentrate on stairs to the loft.
