Shearing time is coming quickly. Mid April and then the work begins sorting and grading. Then a load goes off to the mill. Been checking the fleece of the Alpacas this past week and they are looking very good with lots of crimp, softness and fineness....

We are offering for Sale our top Guy. He has top flight genetics, he has blue ribbons, to include Reserve Color Champion, he is proven and has progeny and lastly he still has reasonably nice fleece. His asking price will be $4500.00. His familiar name is Chino. His registered name will come later. The ancestry lines include the following:::Caligula, which also includes Poseidon. Tasha is growing so nicely. At the 1 Alpaca Farm she is so beautiful. Her mom is Marci and Grand mom is Rhiana. Would you believe that her great grandfather is Blacker than night and at one time was the Premier Black Stud in the Alpaca World. This girl has some of the biggest names in Alpaca World in her Pedigree.

Every activity known to man comes with some drawbacks. I dearly love my alpacas and cuddly curiosity is usually the norm for them. However, today one of them needed to have an injection and Dave was not paying attention while he was holding this alpaca and Terri gave her the injection. Now do you think she spit all that greeen stufff at Terri, Heck no, Dave got it straight away, a direct hit so to speak....I know the Alpaca Breeders out there are getting a very good chuckle since they can relate!!!!

One of the goals of our Breeding program for the last 10 years has been to develop several very strong breeding bloodlines in our herd. We began our herd with strong lines such as Poseidon and Royal Fawn! We have always considered these blood lines as the base of our alpaca herd. However, we have wanted to add to these two wonderful sires working towards developing size and color and fineness of fleece. In our own minds we feel as though we have been relatively successful at reaching our goals.

The 1 Alpaca Farm is proud to present our most recent Cria who is now 9 days old and is a beauty with the finest of fine fleece a beautifully shaped alpaca who exhibits a very lovely dark brown fleece on the outside but moving deeper to the inside we discover hints of the beautiful black fleece of her sire, the Incredible Dominoe.

We deliberated long and hard to come up with the right name and we feel that we have when we decided her name would be The 1AF Dominoe's Duchess. Duchess carries herself with the Regal carriage of her paternal Grandmother, Chase Tavern's Awilda. The time has come to introduce Duchess's Bloodlines as follows: 1AF Dominoe, PPPeruvian Grand Master, Greybeard, and Crescent Moon's Rayo Del Sol on her sire's side. Bueno, PPeruvian Victor, and PPeruvian Guellermo on her dam's side.

We are proud of this girl already and look forward to her coming Show Career!!!

Looking forward to getting some time this weekend for taking cria pictures of the Incredible Dominoe's Duchess. She is now 9 days old and she is 19 pounds. Measured her height, from ground to tummy and she is 17 inches. Very tall, leggy lady. She races around the corral pronking and kicking while the big girl alpacas all line up to watch her. We are still waiting for our other moms to start giving birth. DD need's a playmate that is for sure!

So we were talking about March being the birth month on the 1 Alpaca Farm. Today is March 2 already and at 10:40 am this morning we have a girl baby whose Sire is the Incredible Dominoe. He and the cria's momma Fiona have a beautiful baby with some beautiful fleece already. Baby is healthy and very determined to do what she wants that is for sure. I was able to think quick enough to grab the camera and so we should be having some pretty decent photos coming on line soon as I get them on. Got a few other things to do first, or the boss lady will get more excited than I am ready for....Stay tuned!
