🍂Road Trip Snack Creation…

Meet our newest road trip creation: cookie dough + pretzel sandwiches! Sweet, salty, crunchy… what’s not to like?!!🚗

We’re hitting the road from Pittsburgh and winding our way through the Allegheny National Forest, where higher elevations mean more chances to catch those gorgeous fall colors! 🍁The views are about to get good… but first, snacks! 😂

If you’re going to Pittsburgh, put this stroll on your list!

Point State Park is a lovely walk, especially when the leaves are changing. You can look back at the city skyline with its famous gold bridges, as well as look across the river at the Steelers stadium.

What makes this walk special? When you stand at the point, you’re actually standing where three rivers meet. There are only two other places in the United States where this happens on the same scale - and one of them is right here in Pittsburgh. This is the confluence of the Monongahela, the Allegheny and the Ohio Rivers.

We can tell you from experience it’s nice to slow down here & get away from the hustle & bustle of the city. Yet you can still walk to it from downtown.

You know that saying, “When in Rome…”
Well, when in Pittsburgh, you try their famous sandwich!

The Primanti Bros created their signature sandwich in 1933 during the Great Depression in Pittsburgh’s Strip District.

It has thick Italian bread layered with grilled meat, melted provolone cheese, french fries, sweet vinegar-based coleslaw, and tomatoes. ***We took the tomatoes off!

It was designed as a complete, portable, one-handed meal for late-night truck drivers, dockworkers, and shift laborers who needed to eat while working or driving. How cool!

✈️ Come behind the scenes as we get ready for our next adventure! 🍂

Before the suitcase comes out, there’s a little planning involved!

Here’s a peek at how I put together my fall travel trip outfits, mix and match colors, and try to prepare for everything Mother Nature might throw our way.

My strategy? Start with the bottoms, build the outfits, and stick to a color palette. The challenge? Getting it ALL into one suitcase without going over the weight limit! 🧳

And apparently, three jackets, several scarves and four pairs of shoes are a perfectly reasonable amount. Right?! 🤣 😬

🏘️ ONE OF AMERICA’S OLDEST STREETS… AND IT’S STILL HOME TO PEOPLE TODAY!

Dating back to 1703, this tiny cobblestone street in Old City is recognized as one of the oldest continuously inhabited residential streets in the United States. Today, 32 historic homes line the alley, and yes… people still actually live here! 🏠
🔥 Look closely and you’ll notice storage areas along the fronts of some homes — places where residents could keep things like firewood.

👀 And then there are the “BUSYBODY” MIRRORS!

These clever little multi-mirror devices were attached near upper-story windows and allowed residents to see what was happening outside — including who was coming to the door or what was happening along the street — without having to stick their heads out the window.

Basically… colonial-era surveillance! 😂

And honestly, we loved how intimate this little street feels. Everything is smaller, closer and more personal. It’s hard to believe you’re walking through the middle of a modern city.

Looking back at these little-kid birthday photos, I wonder if she ever imagined all the places she’d go, the people she’d meet, the food she’d eat and the memories she’d collect. ❤️

Still curious. Still adventurous. Still asking, “Where are we going next?” ✈️🌎

This little girl is all grown up now - she remains young at heart & ready for the next adventure! 🥂 ❤️
