Our first kidding season is officially in the books, and what a season it was.

• 4/4 does bred and delivered
• 9 kids born
• 225% kidding rate
• 6 bucklings and 3 doelings

Every single birth was unassisted, with all kids born out on pasture just as nature intended. Our moms handled kidding beautifully, with three of them being first time fresheners. Watching them raise their babies within the herd has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. There’s something incredibly special about seeing confident, capable does and strong, herd raised kids thriving together.

Like any first season, it came with plenty of learning. If we could do one thing differently, we would breed later in the fall for spring kiddings. Kinder weather, greener pastures, and a little more sleep for us all sounds like a pretty good plan.

Another lesson? Since our buck lives full time with the herd, we ended up with a very boy heavy kid crop this year. There’s some evidence that timing and herd dynamics may influence gender ratios, so next season we’ll be testing that theory by keeping our buck separate during non-breeding season.

We’re grateful for healthy moms, thriving babies, and all the lessons this season brought. Here’s to growing, learning, and an even better kidding season next year. 🤍

There’s something pretty special about early mornings at Caribou Ridge Ranch 🤍

The sun is just starting to peek over the trees, the air is crisp, and the chickens are already waiting… because they know what’s coming 🐓✨

As soon as we fire up the rototiller and turn over a fresh patch of earth, it’s like the best surprise ever for them. They come running, clucking with excitement, ready to scratch, dig, and hunt for all the good little treats hiding in the soil 🐛🌱

Happy chickens, busy beaks, and fresh-turned dirt… it’s the simple things that make ranch life so rewarding.

And honestly? Watching them enjoy it that much might be our favorite part of the morning 💛

Our little mobile farm stand is almost ready to roll! 🤍

We’re so excited to bring Caribou Ridge Ranch straight to you with in town delivery. We know not everyone can make the drive out to our farm stand in Harrison, so we’re bringing the farm stand to Coeur d’Alene instead.

From fresh handcrafted sourdough goodies and farm fresh eggs to future goat dairy offerings and ranch raised meat, we’re creating an easy way to enjoy wholesome food from our farm to your family.

We’re currently building our local delivery route and would love to include you. If you’d like to be added to our delivery list, send us a message or comment below so we can plan our stops.
