A couple newbies this summer, and we were missing a couple regulars. But it's always worth the quality time with some of the best girls. We determined this was our 4th summer in a row doing an aunts and nieces valley fair trip!

I'm guessing I'm not alone, since I'm pretty sure most everyone finds up their life as full as time allows. But looking at David i look and often wonder all of the mom things. Am I meeting his needs, ask if them, physiological, psychological, social, developmental.
Like really what is my goal for mothering. Is it that my child never has a bad day, or i never do anything wrong? I'm way too realistic to expect either of those to be possible.
So then you can think i want a successful child, but what did that look like, and how does what i do help encourage success, what does that look like? For us at this house it looks like fostering independence by allowing him to struggle, first noise does not mean he's asking for help, but that he's frustrated. It's impressively challenging to notice your child struggling. Just watch and wait for him to show me what he wants my help with.
The problem I've found with this is one day you may look over and find your 1 yo
preparing the sauna stove for fire wispering "hot hot hot"
fixing the screen door,
checking on the breaks of your pickup,
Doing the dishes in the sink
"Fixing" his own bike with a hammer
But you'll also find him stomping his feet in frustration when you take him away from something sketchy, or when you're in a rush and you just finish what he's helping with but it's taking too long.
Anyways the real question any family wonders, are we doing it right and are we appreciating what we have just the right amount?

We're getting to the fun part of planting a garden for cutting flowers. My mom and I decided to do this kind of last minute this spring and it feels like the work is paying off. And David loves helping and watering!

It took us a week to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the independence of the united states of america!
Side by side rides as long as i asked uncle adam if we can. Yard games, fireworks. Lots of books in the car.
A whole week and dad never left my side! We took naps, sauna swim, bike rides, fixed the breaks on our truck and uncle mark's starter. I thought many more tools were needed than my dad actually used.
The weather was summery and the big lake was bathwater so we spent most of out days on the beach!
I learned where the pins go on the drop axles on the camper.
My cousin had a little girl that only my mom got to meet!

My favorite days are ones spent with Dad. I help with every job I see happening. Mowing, fed pigs, fixing mom's car.

Today was a great day!
1. In the morning I was living it up in my crib. I'm learning how to jump and jumping in my crib is a riot!

At lunch Hannah, gramma, and grampa came over to finish the last couple housekeeping tasks for grampa's 80th birthday party on Sunday.

2.Mom wouldn't let me go swimming. But as it turns out she just wanted me to have my life jacket and trunks on before going swimming. I don't know if I really get why, honestly my new trick this week is my ability to jump so jumping into the pool is the best activity I've ever done in my whole life.

3. Gramma fed me oranges and it felt like summer time with the juices dripping right down my belly.

4. 500 on Friday came and went and i couldn't find dad in his normal places, his bed, the bathroom, eating in the kitchen, so i was searching everywhere for him even under the couch incase he was hiding there, he wasn't.

5. My mom showed me the secret new activity called coloring or something like that. It was medium fun, much more fun when i used my left hand and quite frustrating when i had the marker on the right hand. I'm not sure why it's not called making if I'm using a marker, but whatever I'll trust my mom with that one.

6. My mom had picked quite a few strawberries and I was trying to help her cut off the caps, but my berry kept rolling away so I ate it. Problem solved

Am i the only one who has more ideas for what they would like to do in a day than is actually possible?
I got a tip recently, if you know you're going to be busy for a few days, just use paper plates, and that was a game changer tip for me this week. Yup we ate our T- bones on the flimsiest paper plates.
And where that really made a difference in was today, I was able to get a good start on my strawberry jam without needing to clean my counter off first.

I've had some people asking where to find berries since I'm not open this year. However I was never on this list so you may be able to find someone small like i was. I don't know if any personally myself.

The first days of spring are hard to beat.
Today i helped with the goat chores, picked some dandelions with mom and my hands turned so yellow but it tasted kinda bitter. And helped water the flower garden!

I took an epic nap, it was my first time actually napping in my crib when she put me in awake. I think I might be growing up again (or I was just really tired out. )
