Twix has produced the most consistent babies here for us, retaining all but 3 doe kids(all 3 went to ADGA show homes). They all have beautiful general appearance and dairy strength along with body capacity. Every daughter’s udder has improved hers in some way, and we expect the same from her sons.

Because of the high heat, they released animals from the National Show early. We made the decision to leave ridiculously early Thursday morning to head home. With water stops and icing the trailer, the girls handled the drive well and we made it home late Thursday night. Everyone was glad to sleep in their own beds for a change:)

Show day for the senior does! We were proud of the way all three of our does turned out for the day in the show ring, but we are especially proud of 4G Heartland Farm Legalyblonde. She made the cut and placed 21 out of 80 entries. That might not sound that impressive, but for us, it was huge to have our home bred doe stand in line with some of the biggest herd names in the country. There were plenty of beautiful does who didn’t make the cut. Now they can just relax and wait to start the journey home.

Despite our best efforts, our Mighty girl passed away this morning. While she never had any kids, she contributed to the farm in so many other ways. She was the very best girl and was so very loved. She was a part of our family and will be missed so much.
