TD Walsh Farms, Inc.

TD Walsh Farms, Inc. We are a family owned and opporated farm in Spokane, County Washington. TD Walsh Farms is a family owned and operated business.

We pride ourselves in being one of the first farms in the area to run a “no-till-drill.” It is just our little part to keep the local agricultural industry sustainable. Our main farming ventures are in hay and grain crops. The Farm History:

The family started farming on Half Moon Prairie in 1950 when Tom Walsh bought 320 acres on Half Moon Road. Tom and his wife, Lorene, raised crops and milked c

ows. In 1978, their son Tim joined the family business full time. After Tom retired in 1991, Tim and his wife Debbie took over the land his dad was farming, as well as another neighbor’s land, increasing the farm land to 2,800acres. After selling the cows in 1997 the focus of the farm became crops. In 2010, Tim and Debbie’s son Dusty and his wife Erin joined the farm full time. Currently the Walsh men are farming 3,200 acres and looking for the right ground to continue to grow.

It is that time again! 🥩 🐮
We almost never get to offer our farm grown meat new people. We have had many of our regular customers with us for about 20+ years now, and they just keep coming back for more! However, thanks to the fact our herd is growing, we actually have a few steers unclaimed for our next butcher date. This date is coming up VERY soon. So you will need to speak up FAST if you want to get on our list. If you want to claim some tasty beef please message here me at TD Walsh Farms, Inc. page.
Would you like more information on how buying beef this way works? We would be happy to answer any questions you have. Just message here on our farm page ASAP and get closer to stocking that freezer full of great tasting, locally grown beef!

Thank you for inquiries.
Do you know where your meat has been? 😜 Our beef steers are raised on our farm from birth to butcher. We know what our animals have been fed, what fields they have grazed in, and exactly how they have been cared for during that time.
When it comes time to butcher, we love being able to customize our order. Picking exactly what we want from steak thickness and number of steaks per package to how much we want to prioritize ground beef versus roasts. The flexibility to get perfect pairings for our family is the cherry on top when you think of how tasty farm raised meat is too! Our customers that have been with us for years can agree, that once you try beef this way it’s nearly impossible to go back to buying at a grocery store.
Thanks to our herd growing well in recent years, we still have a few beef halves unclaimed. Don’t need a half? Find a buddy or message us! Our next butcher date is this week and due to the grind of busy grain crop harvest and the full timeline farm work all summer we haven’t done a great job of connecting with new customers to fill the few extra spots on our current availability. Our butcher comes tomorrow 😬
Do you want one of those sides of beef to have your name on it this fall? Please message us asap!!!
*I believe I’m all caught up on responses to questions as of 7pm tonight. But if I missed one from you message again or feel free to call and we can talk it through.

Did you know we raise beef cattle here on our farm? 🥩 🐮
It is kind of well kept secret 😂 That is not on purpose! Rather it is due the the fact that our regular customers often claim them so fast and buy again year after year. So we almost never get to offer meat any to new people. We have had many of those customers with us for about 20+ years now, and they just keep coming back for more! However, thanks to the fact our herd is growing, we actually have a few steers unclaimed and our next butcher date. This date is coming up VERY soon. You’ll still be chatting with me (Erin) but that way I don’t get floral requests and beef inquiries mixed up… because nobody wants a hamburger bouquet. Or do they?!?! 😂 🤔 💐 🍔

We mentioned yesterday that the field crop sunflowers were finished being planted! For those that are new here, THIS image from a couple years ago is why that is so exciting. There should be about 800 acres of sunnies blooming; spread across the various areas we farm. 🎉 🌻
As usual, the very mention of sunflowers has brought on many inquiries from local photographers. (And we love your enthusiastic energy!) Here is what we can and can’t tell you about booking one of those very special and selective sessions.
Like in years past, we do plan to have a select area of our own property that we share with photographers. The timing of blooms is typically only a 10-15 day window, starting sometime between the second half of July and ending somewhere in the first week or so of August. But all of that timeline is very dependent on the weather. Heat and rain (or lack of it like last season) can move our planned dates by a week or more! So far the 22 season is running quite late, due to the cold, wet spring! Who knows if it will stay that way?!🤷🏻‍♀️ Which is why we don’t share official availability dates until some time AFTER Fourth of July. So unfortunately we can’t be more specific and we won’t coordinate your booking right now. As soon as we know the timeline we will share that info across our social media. At that time we will share the plan for the opening dates of when we will begin taking bookings. I know, I know it’s super annoying not be able to plan it all out and pre-contract your clients ahead of time. (Welcome to trying to plan ANYTHING in the summertime as a farm wife) Such is the way of farming- wait and see!
Until then, we just get to anticipate and know this beautiful sight IS coming again! 💗

Wouldn’t be a special holiday with out a little bovine drama, would it?
Thankfully they went back fairly easily this time. We all still had a good time. The littlest cousins may have even had more fun because of the cows trying to join the party. Hope everyone had a fantastic Easter! How did you celebrate?

Well hey February… where did you come from?! 🤯
Some of you may know we do a calendar for our farm each year. This year we ended up with a couple extra…. Meaning we are going to do a give away!
So if your are like us and just realizing that a whole month of 2022 has already gone by, you might be in need of one of these beauties. To enter to win one of our calendars: Drop a line telling us your favorite month and why you think it’s the best. We will make this a quick one and draw names Sunday so we can get calendars out to the winners early next week.

We are going to start a new collection of videos for you today. They will be short clips to help teach the very basics about some different aspects of our operation. This first installment of our “Farm School” series will feature the thing we get the MOST questions about all summer long: How do we harvest those sunflowers!?
Let us know what you think! What else do you want to know about in future videos?
