We are here to help you create stunning floral arrangements for any event; from a simple BBQ to the Big Day! We are located amidst the wheat fields and sunflowers on Half Moon Prairie. Our flower farm will amaze with the blooms packed into a small space. Throughout the summer you will be able to join us in

picking a variety of flowers including daisies, lupines, zinnias, cosmos, asters, bachelor’s buttons, snap dragons, and sunflowers, just to name a few. No time to pick? Ask us about pre-made bouquets or event flowers!

Friends we would love your opinion. As our longtime followers may have noticed, events hosted by us this summer have been nonexistent. This decision was made intentionally with caution in the early season when Mr. Farmer, Dusty’s stroke was still very recent.
Now that we’re getting closer to fall, we are feeling a little more stable with his medical situation; he is doing great by the way. So we are considering adding something fun to the schedule. If we could only pick one, because life is still busy, which of these options would you be most excited to join. Or do you have a new idea?

The cool thing about the self-serve upick garden is you can come when it works for you as long as it is one of our open days! (Friday. Saturday. Sunday. Monday) And I don’t have to sit around and babysit our customers because all the instructions are written out for you under the big tree in the garden.
Here is one of those instructions that sometimes gets missed and it is truly the secret sauce to an awesome u-pick bucket.
When you pick, think of your bucket in thirds.
Choose 1/3 that is focal flowers. That’s easy it’s what your eye is drawn to, hence the name. Larger showy blooms that catch your attention!
Next 1/3 is filler flowers. These will be smaller blooms or “clumps” of tiny florets like yarrow. Fillers can make the bouquet more interesting by adding texture or color.
Last 1/3 is the one that frequently gets missed, GREENERY! Without the greens to soften and fill spaces your bouquets will just look… awkward. When someone sends me a picture and asks “how come my bouquets don’t look like yours?!” the answer is almost always that they left out greenery or only had one tiny sprig.

Thats it! This magical ratio will basically fix nearly all your picking problems! So when you visit us next weekend, (remember we are closed Tuesday through Thursday for private events and appointments) give this picking strategy a try. Focal + filler + greenery = 1/3 each!

Yes! We have dahlias! They are pre-cut in our “grab and go” flower cooler. They are not included in u-pick but this is the best way to enjoy them. You can add on a bunch to your bucket or buy them as stand alone.
We also have an assortment of pre-made mason jar bouquets ready for you. These are limited edition and no two are the same. Grab them from the cooler while you can!
Or head to the u-pick garden and make your own bouquets as unique as you are! There is no wrong way to make a bouquet and if you’re happy with your flowers that’s all that matters!
Remember u-pick is self serve so just go on in to the garden and find the instructions under the big shady treee.
